UK Nurse Registration Full Application and Assessment stage before OSCE

Published

Hi People

I am a UK born citizen trained in Australia hence I am going via the overseas trained route. I passed my CBT test and am in the full application and assessment stage.

I am interested in sharing information with people who are also in this stage of the application.

I commenced my application in 2013 under the old process which was rejected due to lack of clinical hours. I received a letter from NMC advising me of the new process. Like many people on this forum, this entire process has been long, drawnout, frustrating and tedious for me!!!!!!!

result will be out 2-3 working days and Pin will be given straight away if u pay the registration fee..

R u currently in Uk? Im a nurse working in middle east, im just thinking if i will resign if they asked me to take the osce... If you will have your PiN immediately that means u will be able to work immediately right? Resigning from my hospital usually take 2-3mos... Did u resign for your work also?

hi how r you? hows your osce? I am just wondering, once you passed the osce, how long will it take for you to know if you pass or not, and how long will it take for UK to give you your PIN?

Whicj reviewer did u used actually? I wil sit on march for my cbt exam... Kinda funny cause im more worried about test 2... Over all, how many months did it it took you before they ask u to sit for osce? I started applying just this month actually...

OSCE is being done here in UK. So obviously you shoud be off work from your current employer and should be here to do that. If you are just on the initial process of application, there is no need to worry about the later steps and just concentrate on test 1 and the assessment stage. It will still take a bit long specially if you don't have an employer here cause they are the one who will decide when can you come over if they will give you sponsorship.

Hi Littlekara.... Can I contact u? Tnx

Thanks kizmwah

I just found out I passed which was a huge relief for me.....

Hi kizmwah

I am very happy to hear that you passed the resit. I took the OSCE yesterday and am so anxiously waiting for the results I cannot relax. Most of the people on the day were very nervous. The whole thing was nerve-wracking!

The first time you sat it did you realise deep down that you had not passed? By that I mean, did you feel that you were unsure about most or just a few things. Also how did you feel on the second attempt?

Overall I think I got most things correct but there are just a few things I could have improved on. I am also very anxious because I heard they are quick to down-mark on trivial things and that there is a high fail rate.

Well done uk gal!! Great christmas gift for you! í ½í¸Š I hope to do the same.. How did you prepare for it?

Hi UK Gal RGN. .

Congratulations! !! Well done.

Hi KIZMWAH

I am glad that you made it. Did you have to sit for a partial resit or full. Did they tell you the reason behind your failure or the part you have to concentrate on.

I am so nervous i am taking the exam on 23rd. I think I still have a lot more to read and I cant imagine a christmas with a bad news

O

Honestly, I was pretty confident the first time i took it.. Me and my study buddy was able to figure out the exam and was pleased that we did. We studied and prepared the right thing. We both think i really made it! But, i didn't and realized i could improve some more. With that, I made sure to do more during my resit. :) Hope you'll make it too! God bless..

I am so glad UK Gal....congrats on your result...how many days did you wait for your result

I am sitting for the exam on 23 rd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
