Hi People
I am a UK born citizen trained in Australia hence I am going via the overseas trained route. I passed my CBT test and am in the full application and assessment stage.
I am interested in sharing information with people who are also in this stage of the application.
I commenced my application in 2013 under the old process which was rejected due to lack of clinical hours. I received a letter from NMC advising me of the new process. Like many people on this forum, this entire process has been long, drawnout, frustrating and tedious for me!!!!!!!
Long time lurker here. Sitting the OSCE on December 15th. If anyone is interested in meeting up and studying, let me know! I'll be in London.
Hi I am taking the test on the 15th. Been studying like crazy but would love to talk some of it out. I am a US emergency nurse looking to work in NHS. I don't live near London but we could still talk on the phone and share tips. It is so close. I am ready for this process to be complete lol
here is my email I can't use PM on this site yet. [email protected]
Congratulations to melcahussey and all who passed the OSCE
I sat it yesterday and am very anxiously waiting for the results... I feel I could have done better on certain aspects..
For all those who passed where all you of confident that you had passed it or anxiously awaiting the results like I am?
Hi kizmwah
I am very happy to hear that you passed the resit. I took the OSCE yesterday and am so anxiously waiting for the results I cannot relax. Most of the people on the day were very nervous. The whole thing was nerve-wracking!
The first time you sat it did you realise deep down that you had not passed? By that I mean, did you feel that you were unsure about most or just a few things. Also how did you feel on the second attempt?
Overall I think I got most things correct but there are just a few things I could have improved on. I am also very anxious because I heard they are quick to down-mark on trivial things and that there is a high fail rate.
Thanks melcahussey
Hi UK Gal,I haven't sat the osce yet, still waiting for my DL. I wish I have then it would be lovely to accept your congratulations. Hopefully that is a positive sign.
Very good luck to you on your result. Have faith.

Honestly, I was pretty confident the first time i took it.. Me and my study buddy was able to figure out the exam and was pleased that we did. We studied and prepared the right thing. We both think i really made it! But, i didn't and realized i could improve some more. With that, I made sure to do more during my resit. :) Hope you'll make it too! God bless..
I'm taking my OSCE this week. I feel like all I've reviewed are things I've done over and over in practice and nothing is unfamiliar. But what makes me nervous is just what am I expected to do? Especially with the assessment part...I feel like to interview the patient about their ALs and me writing them down legibly would take the whole 15 minutes! Like am I expected to do vitals and an actual head-to-toe assessment and document too? This sounds like doing a whole patient admission..which is a time consuming process!! I just hope on test day the patient scenario papers simply and clearly guide us on what the assessors want to see us do.

hi how r you? hows your osce? I am just wondering, once you passed the osce, how long will it take for you to know if you pass or not, and how long will it take for UK to give you your PIN?
