Hi People
I am a UK born citizen trained in Australia hence I am going via the overseas trained route. I passed my CBT test and am in the full application and assessment stage.
I am interested in sharing information with people who are also in this stage of the application.
I commenced my application in 2013 under the old process which was rejected due to lack of clinical hours. I received a letter from NMC advising me of the new process. Like many people on this forum, this entire process has been long, drawnout, frustrating and tedious for me!!!!!!!
Hi guys, just received an email from NMC for additional documents. Furious! They said according to the script from my university, geriatric nursing training hours were not provided so requested to submit extra form to prove that I had enough training for geriatric nursing. Moreover, UK police certi to submit although I didn't work as a nurse while I was in the UK. And one form from California nursing board, where I practiced my nursing, apart from my california nursing license verification. I didn't expect to be requested such many extra documents! I think it's either I wasn't very careful when preparing the documents or they just want to make the registration extremely difficult as I am an international nurse. Sad day.
Hi! 072bomi I was also asked to complete the t/a reference form because of the same reason, My university failed to provide details regarding geriatric nursing.
Hi, I worked for a geriatric ward for a year before so Ill just ask the head nurse to fill the form and lets see if NMC would accept. My university said geriatric training is part of adult training course but they can not specify how many hours thus left it empty in the form. Registration process is really frustrating but I will not give up! Visited NMC 4times already and Ill do many more if needed.
Hey everyone,I have bikes my OSCE for sept 9th! Just wondering if anyone has any tips or guidelines to look at?
They don't give you much info! M
Thanks :)
Dear dana_canada,You can find it at the bottom of the second page of your decision letter. Wait for a second email from the competency test center of the university of northampton for the payment link for the OSCE.
Congratulations Hellsing and Dana_canada for pushing thru to the OSCE taking! Has the NMC or Uni of Northampton provide any links that can prep you for the OSCE? And details about the test? Like how long it'll take or how many "live" situations there will be?
I think NBI police clearance is valid for 1 year
Nope. Just three months, like what Hellsing stated.

Hey!
I was able to transfer over all my documents from the old system to the new system..
Just e mail the Nmc and ask they to do so but specifically state all the documents you want to transfer over!
They did it all for me :)
