UCLA MECN Fall 2011

I saw that the MECN application for UCLA has been posted today. Is anyone applying to the Fall 2011 program?? I haven't found a thread going on yet...Maybe we can share our questions/concerns regarding the application process here.

They will be mailed out this year, no email.

This makes no sense to me. Yale is supposedly doing this too. Why, after so many years of emailing decisions, would they switch back to snail mail? Frustrating, but no point in getting upset about it. Just more waiting, waiting, waiting...

Hi, everyone!

I emailed Mark last night and this was his response this morning:

"Decisions will be made today, and letters will be sent out shortly via snail mail. You will be able to check your online application status which will also give the admission decision before receiving the official letter."

Yikes! It's almost here. Can someone remind me how many students they're planning to take this year? I keep thinking it's 45.

I think they're taking 60 students - and then they put people on a waiting list. In years past they rank the waiting list students out of 45 and around 20 or less get in off the waiting list, it just depends on the class.

AH! I am dying of the wait. either way I just want to know!!! at least we're all still in the same boat. Plus if Mark said decisions are made today - then that girl who said she received her letter a couple weeks ago had to have made it up. right?

Thanks everyone. Best of luck to you all! :) I really hope that what the counselor said is true... I checked my status right now and it says no decision has been yet.... does anyone know when this will be updated by chance? I'm too scared to ask :(

i'm getting stomach cramps just thinking that we could know as soon as today or tomorrow!! as i was logging into the grad decision status site, i thought i was going to puke. still not updated.

OMG OMG OMG I'm so nervoussssss! They're making them today? Well if Mark said we can check the status online then I'm guessing we can find out our decision very soon! I'm assuming that girl who said she got accepted wasn't completely truthful... unless she has connections. lol. Well good luck guys! Almost there...:eek:

bethany, she probably lied, haha. i hope we all get in!! :) sigh i am so nervous... my anxiety is really killing me!!! i just wanna find out now.. i hate wondering. then again, i'll probably be sad when i get the news... :(
