@tilapiacooker - those accepted have till April 2nd to give her their decision so it ain't over till it's over!!If I were you I'd contact K on Monday and express how much you want to be in the program and what you can do to get to the top of the waiting list. You've got nothing to lose. The fact that you got an interview is something to feel good about so don't be too hard on yourself!

when i tell people i work three 12-hour shifts a week, they somehow have it in their minds that i am a part-time employee. they focus on the THREE and not on the total number of hours (that is spent mostly on my feet!). i wish they'd do the math :icon_roll

hi guys! i created a FB group for us. i know people are concerned about privacy, so i made it "secret" so that people can't see who the members.

i just wanted to wish everyone the best of luck at UCLA! i decided to go with CSULA. yesterday afternoon, i withdrew my intent to enroll. i know there are a few others who will be doing the same, so that's great news for those on the waiting list! so don't give up!!! spots are/will be opening up. i work at Santa Monica-UCLA so i'll probably be seeing some of you during clinicals! you guys have the cutest blue uniforms : )

congrats, msgbad4u! my reasons for choosing CSULA over UCLA are as follows: NP degree (i'm in my 30's so i don't want to have to apply to yet another program after graduation), the ability to work as RN after 15 months, and small cohort. my family has a hard time understanding why i'm choosing CSULA over a big name, but i'm trying to look at the long term. i have nothing against UCLA (it's my alma mater!), it's just not a good fit for me at the moment.

I just got a call too!! I can't believe I'm in... I'm so excited! I'll have to contact UCLA to retract my acceptance. congrats to those who are in thus far. I'm sure she's still making calls so hang tight for those still waiting. can't wait to meet everyone on may 6th!

don't know how I'm going to survive work tomorrow!! I'm going to be a ball of anxiety all day.

I interviewed on Feb. 24th. I hope she even remembers me, for heaven's sake!! that's one of the drawbacks of interviewing early. Monday can't come soon enough.

hi jungdt! there are a few reasons why i feel CSULA is a better fit for me than UCLA. the main one being that i'm interested in the NP track. with MECN, i would need to go back to school again in order to become a NP. i'd like to be able to get my RN as well as my NP degree through one program if possible. i'm not in my 20's anymore, so i don't have the luxury of time! i also find the small cohort size to be appealing. i think it's also cool that after 5 quarters, you have your RN and can start working.

@susan007 - congrats on a successful interview! and thank you for your advice on my situation. i guess i will go ahead and accept UCLA, then withdraw my acceptance if CSULA wants me. i feel bad about doing that, but i don't want to risk losing my spot!
