UC Davis New Grad Residency Fall 2020

Published

Is anyone planning on applying? Application period opens up April 29th. I am curious how it will work out with unit placement when so many programs in CA did not get to finish their preceptorships.

Does anyone know the phone number to the New Grad residency program coordinators?

They just asked me when I was free next week. I picked Wednesday, but it could have been any time next week so between 4-9 days.

@hiremeplease how did your interview go?

It went well! Got a lot of compliments from the manager and laughed a lot. It felt relaxed. They asked a lot fo behavioral questions (tell me a time... ) and some situational ones about how you would handle it.

On the unit I interviewed with, they interviewed 10 people and are hiring only 1 person. We will hear back in July.

Did you have any clinical scenario questions? Any ACLS/sepsis/stroke questions?

Also, who were the people interviewing you? Were you interviewed by your Med-Surg department manager, or by Human Resources personnel?

That's great; I hope you get the position! ??

Thank you and yes, 2 clinical scenario questions. Like who would you prioritize and what interventions would you do.

Does anyone know if NICU or the birth center are hiring and if they have made calls for interviews? In the past it seems different units call at different times.

Does anyone know if the application status changes to "no longer under consideration" if they are are no longer considering you, or if the status just stays "application under review." Also, is there anyone who has an application that is not currently "under review"?

CONGRATS! What type of patients did they use in the scenario questions? How do you think you did prioritizing them?

My status changed to "application under review" a couple of weeks ago but never got a call for an interview.

Also, before the nurse residency application started, I applied to a couple of positions in UC Davis and they do change your status to "no longer under consideration" when you are not qualified. But it took weeks for that status to change.

Exactly what happened to me. I am stalking my page to see if it changes. And I keep checking my phone to make sure it's on and working. Lame-o!!

Same. Everyday. LOL. In Maryland, it's easy to get a job in the hospital. Whether you have an associate's degree or a bachelor's degree.

But, let's just wait and have faith. For sure they will call us. ?
