Hello everyone!
I did not see a thread for UC Davis MEPN 2020 start so I thought I would start this since applications open up next week ? has anyone written a personal statement? I can't find any specific guidelines for what to include
@hdavis2200 Just wondering why you chose UC Davis! Were there other schools you were deciding between? Do you like the program so far?

That's very nice of you and I hope you enjoy USF! I am currently on the waitlist for this program but I have also reapplied to USF for the third time after being waitlisted the first and second time. I hope to get accepted somewhere soon! If you don't mind, could you share your stats? ?
My stats are not really the best,..I did no volunteering experience of any kind,.just that I had first hand experiences from a third world country. West Africa, Sierra Leone. I was last there during the 2014 Ebola outbreak, I help with patient mapping nothing really much. I have an Economics and Accounting background,.work for both private and public Companies. Prerequisites were just ok. 3Bs, and an A in physiology. I am just humbled that I got accepted to these two schools. If that helps with anything,.that is all I got my Dear. If you want to talk to me personally let me know I will willing to. This was also my first year applying to schools. For me, I just give God all the glory for his grace and favour. I have no idea how it allhappened, it's all God for me!

Sounds like your stats are actually good given that you have some experience abroad! Do you speak other languages as well? ?

This is the answer I got:
"Thank you for confirming your waitlist position with us. We are excited that you have decided to remain in our applicant pool!
The waitlist consists of a small pool of selected applicants. These applicants are not numbered, but will be considered for admission if a position in the entering class becomes available. If you are offered a position in the entering class, we will be in contact with you immediately. Please note that your waitlist status may remain until the start of the program."
So yeah, pretty generic and I have NO clue what that means as far as the likelihood of admission. I'd like to know the percentage of students that accept their spots and those that get off the waitlist but from what I know about previous years I don't think they share that information.
