Hiya folks!
It's a bit early, but since the application period opens in a couple of months, I thought I'd start this topic to share support/encouraging words/info/nervousness.
Is anyone else already excited for next September?

I am trying to decide between U of T and UBC, does anyone have any insight to the key differences between the two programs? What is the typical class size in UBC Nursing?
thank you!
I don’t really know anything about U of T nursing, but I believe the class size for UBC is 120 for most courses. For our second and fourth semester though half do mental health and half do pediatrics so I’m assuming it would be 60 per class for those semesters
Hello everyone!
I'm wondering if anyone can offer me any advice to my situation...
Based on this forum I am currently sitting as the next person in line on the waiting list. I am from Ontario and have been accepted to Western University's Compressed Time Frame Nursing. Western is my second choice but nonetheless I am holding my spot as backup. I am getting anxious about the timing of the cross-country move and if/ when a spot at UBC is even going to open up.
To those accepted, have you registered for courses and/or paid a deposit?
Is there a lot of preparation for starting the program in September? Should a spot come available in August, do you think this is enough time to move to Vancouver and be prepared to start in September?
Any insight is really appreciated, or at least thank you for listening to my stresses LOL

Congratulations on getting into UWO!
I'm still on the waitlist for UBC, but from my understanding, those who have been accepted have already registered for courses. Not sure about the deposit. You could double check the UBC BSN website for the post-admission requirements, but it mainly seems to consist of completing the CPR/ mask fitting, a criminal record check, making sure your vaccines are up to date, and a few forms/ documents to sign and submit (I'm sure there are a few other small things too).
From my understanding, at this point more seats on the waitlist don't normally come available until the end of July/ beginning of August. Apparently though the waitlist this year hasn't been moving in the way it normally does (according to the admissions coordinator I contacted a couple of weeks ago - she predicted that there wouldn't be as many people accepted off the waitlist this year as in previous years ? ).

The $100 deposit is paid once you accept your seat and registration begins July 13th-15th. I wouldn't say there is alot of preparation before September, the most difficult part would be moving and finding a reasonably priced place to stay. Housing costs in Vancouver are expensive. You may want to start looking at your housing options now.
They advised us to register for courses by July 29, so maybe some spots will open up after then if people don’t register? You can probably check how many people are fully registered after July 15 which could give you an indication if people may drop. Basically if all 120 people haven’t registered on their date/time, it might indicate some people are still on the fence. Hope you hear back soon:)

Thanks for your insights I appreciate it! I will do everything I can to be prepared and accept that the rest is out of my control. Hoping to meet you all in the fall!
