  1. I'm in!! Congrats to everyone who got in! And those on the waitlist -- I'm crossing my fingers for you!
  2. Haha -- I think I've already refreshed 10 times this morning ?
  3. Oh wow - that's excellent news! Congrats!
  4. Wow! Everyone on here seems so qualified! Hopefully we all get in. I'm applying with a cGPA of 3.35. I see folks are including their marks for the pre-reqs -- are they more heavily weighted, or do they just look at cGPA? I'm almost done my BA, but probably won't finish before the January nursing intake. I have a bit more than 10 years experience nannying, 15 years in customer service (the last 5 of which was serving/bartending), 7ish years working as a doula in and out of hospitals, and most recently I'm my moms caregiver while she's battling cancer. I'm ridiculously excited about the possibility of getting into the nursing program -- I can hardly contain myself! Anyone applying elsewhere? I've applied to Langara, but thats it so far. Good luck to you all!
  5. Thanks for your reply! You really put my mind at ease. The waiting game has officially started! I'm trying not to obsessively think about when they'll decide our fate -- but its hard! And it's literally the very beginning! How's everyone else doing?
  6. Hi folks! Did anyone have their school send transcripts via post mail? I contacted admissions and they said you can send scanned copies or post them to Langara. Mine should have arrived by now, but my Langara account still says "missing documents" and I'm having a slight freakout. Anyone else in the same boat? I'm wondering if I should also send scanned copies, just to be safe. How cool that we've all come this far? The journey getting here has been so long! Ps. I'm applying with either a 3.73 or 3.8 (depending on which English class they will look at).
  7. Hi skm17! I'm planning on applying for the Jan 2022 intake! Currently finishing up A&P2 and am upgrading my grade 11 math, but then I'm ready! How about you? Where are you in the pre-req journey? Here we go!! What a ride.
  8. I’m taking part 2 of HAP at Thompson Rivers online - so like Athabasca, you can do it at your own pace. They recommend high school biology and Chemistry, but it’s not a prereq! Codes are BIOL1593 and BIOL1693. Feel free to DM me if you want more info about the courses ?
  9. Thanks for spreading the word - I just applied! Here we gooooo!
  10. Hiya folks! It's a bit early, but since the application period opens in a couple of months, I thought I'd start this topic to share support/encouraging words/info/nervousness. Is anyone else already excited for next September?
  11. Yeah no kidding! Especially for you since you’re almost done biol! ?? I’m sure this year will pass quickly though. You’ll (we’ll) be in those patho classes in no time. ?
  12. I bet! Yeah I’m about halfway though the 1st A+P and I feel like I have little room for any other mentally demanding thing! I’ve heard the 2nd A+P is a bit more rewarding after all the cell and tissue and Chemistry heavy bits. Are you enjoying it more than the first? Ps. Thanks for replying! It’s nice to share the nervous energy.
  13. Oh Langara 1191.. how are you finding it??
  14. Hi Langara hopefuls! I know it's early, but I wanted to start a thread for September 2020 intake because I'm currently ramping up to apply and getting excited! I'm taking A+P at the moment, and will be taking 3 other prereqs in the fall at TRU. I have a couple of college certs, some uni credits, but no degree yet. Anyone else out there prepping and getting ansy?
