Is anyone out there applying for the fast track program starting in the summer for the Dallas campus? I am applying. Will have my pre-reqs completed in January. I am very stressed about them only accepting 30 students!!! Does anyone have any thoughts, concerns, anything??!? I think I am going crazy waiting for April to come to know if I got in or not!
I drive like 30 miles total a day to work and back in a F150. I spent about 200 bucks one month on gas when the gas soared (peak price). Now that you live 1 hour away, roughly 60 miles, so 120 miles back and forth, that's like 800 dollars if gas price is at its peak! Average apartment in Dallas at least cost 500 dollars (in a decend environment) + additional gas money you have to spend (i'm sure you won't be living next door to TWU). If you drive in a small car, probaly cost about 500 dollars to communte. So you decide.
Okay, so I made an appointment today for my immunizations and was told the last shot of the Hep B series wouldn't be until 7 or 8 months from now- obviously not within the time that school starts. Is anyone else in this dilemma? Do we have to have the entire series completed by June? I'm losing my mind once again.
Don't worry jtbrass. all you need to do is take the first shot and do a titer of your blood sample to see if it has immunity against Hep B. Usually you do after the first shot. If you start tomorrow, you should be able to do your second shot next month. So your blood will definitely good to go. Hopefully this helps.
Sophia I've done titers for hep B at quest diagnostics. It would be better to get a titer after the seconf shot. The first shot will only get u iimmune up to 50 percent if I'm correct. The second will put u over to where u are immune. By that time u are up to like 90 percent. Third shot really isn't all that important

It might pass after the frist but if it doesn't the second shot will do
There is no way the Hep B vaccine can be completed in the time frame they gave us, and they have to know that. Just get the first ones done, and we'll get the last one as soon as it's possible (6 months from the first one). I got all of my vaccines/tests done yesterday, with the exception of the last two Hep Bs. Don't lose your mind! Everything is a-okay.
I called today and they told me that having it started would render me "temporarily compliant." I thought it was strange that we were expected to start getting them five months before knowing whether or not we'd been accepted.
"Strange" has kind of become par for the course, in my opinion!
