This is for students applying to TWU Dallas for Fall 2014 :)
Hey guys! I noticed that there wasn't a Fall 2014 page yet... Probably because its not for another year but I thought I would start one!
I'm currently attending North Central Texas College and I'm about to start my last semester of required prereqs, and I'm taking a CNA class this fall!
I've attended an open house at TWU Denton & Dallas; I absolutely love the campus and the staff seems so friendly! I'm really excited to attend TWU. Hopefully I'll be in Dallas for the nursing program, but if life does not take me in that direction--I'll make my way for a Physical Therapy degree!
I'm sooo excited to start nursing classes and spend time in the hospitals. I'm on this website all the time and I hope there are some people on here applying the same time as me so we can support each other :-)
Tell me about yourself!
You can always apply for the fall instead. Aren't you done with the CC in May? If you've already applied it's really easy to change it. Just fill out the admissions change form on the admissions page on twu.eduBut you don't have to take it before you enter! You can take it your first semester too.
I think I'll just take it my 1st semester. I'll have 2 more classes to take in the month of May, then I'll be completely done. Thanks, again!
I think the personal review is just for you if you want to know what your background check pulls up. Was that the thing that was an extra like $22? I said no... I just did the fingerprint thing for $42 and all I have to do is go to the office to give my prints and I'm donnnnneee! Hopefully this is the last thing... I'm tired of paying for all of these LOL! I only have so much money!
I have a problem that my family physician wouldn't have any available appointment for me before the deadline. I went to to take the TB test and hep B titer at county health department and some med lab. So I don't know who is the physician/health provider to sign the record from as required.

I *think* that the form says if each record is signed, the main form does not have to be. I sent all of my records off today and I got my stuff done at several different places, so since each form was signed I didn't have that main page signed. Will let you know if they don't accept it, but I think it will be ok as long as you get each of your others signed from whomever fills them out.
Is anyone having trouble getting in touch with Ms. Bonner? I've sent a bunch of emails with time-senstive questions (starting on Apr 7 - now), called her office and multiple other offices and spoken with a bunch of people who couldn't answer my questions. She's never available to talk on the phone either. I don't know what to do. Am I the only one she's ignoring, lol?
Since I can't get answers from anyone at TWU, I figured I'd ask you all! :)
*Has anyone received confirmation about getting a spot in the summer 2 Patho? She sent out an email about signing up this past Friday or Thursday.
*Have you heard of alternate dates for orientation? I will be out of the state that weekend, perfect timing right?! Ughhh, I don't know what to do!
*Has anyone had to deal with foreign immunization records? My dr here doesn't have records for all my shots and my childhood shots were done in South America, up until I was 5 or 6...
*Do you know of any clinics that has low cost immunization options? I don't have health insurance yet... Which reminds me,
*What's the policy on enrolling and having health insurance? I know we are required to have it but does it have to start at a specific date?
I really should've started to get this stuff together as soon the welcome packet was emailed out! Eeek!
Thank you for any help!! I'm kind of freaking out lol
Tracydsc - I think there is only 1 orientation session offered. Health insurance, I would assume, will be covered at that time. I'm sure you can talk to someone about it later though.
As far as your immunizations, even though you've had immunizations before, you can get titers which will prove that you've had immunizations for the required diseases. I would suggest a County Health Office, depending on where you live.
