Confirmation Hearings for the Trump's incredibly bad choices for cabinet leadership positions. Traitors, drunks, rapists, pet killers and television personalities were the first choice of the mentally ill old man.
My Senator, Dan Sullivan is all over his social media singing the praises of these folk so we should expect most of them to be confirmed.
Hegseths hearing should be starting about now.
There's some speculation that Hegseth is on the way out. I do think "total chaos" might be a bit dramatic but with top officials being fired you do have to wonder what is going on and why?
Trump is supporting him, but I take what he says with a grain of salt because one day he says one thing and the next day he flip flops.
QuoteThe Pentagon is in "total chaos" and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is unlikely to remain in his role, according to its former top spokesperson, who painted a scene of dysfunction, backstabbing and continuous missteps at the highest levels of the department.

QuotePresident Donald Trump "stands strongly behind Pete Hegseth,” press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Monday morning, defending the scandal-plagued Defense secretary against escalating criticism from Democrats and former senior officials.
Hegseth "is doing phenomenal leading the Pentagon,” Leavitt said in a "Fox & Friends" appearance. "This is what happens when the entire Pentagon is working against you and working against the monumental change you are trying to implement.”

I dunno, sudden firings, crazy signal chats, leaked military secrets, etc all seems pretty chaotic to me.
I suspect that Hegseth is, indeed, in his way out. It will be interesting too see how Trump handles this clear disaster of a cabinet member.
In other news, did you hear that a common thief got past Director Noem's secret service security detail and stole her purse at a DC restaurant on Easter?

No one deserves to have belongings stolen, and I hope she can recover at least some of it.
There is a certain irony that the head of Homeland Security can't keep her own things secure. I recently traveled and had a bit of cash and my passport. The bag I had them in never left my sight. I've jobs where losing your badge resulted in serious disciplinary action. Apparently her security badge was taken.

All of it seems suspect and sloppy.
What in the world? Who thinks this is a good idea?
QuoteThe move is part of a broader disruption caused by the Trump administration's push to cut up to $40 billion from HHS. In addition to the FERN program, the FDA in early April suspended testing for bird flu in milk, cheese, and pet food due to similar staffing reductions.

Seems like DOGE should be called....

Trump is the smoke and mirrors of single issue voters and social issues to get us peons to argue with each other to distract about what's really going on: the ultrasuperrich getting what they want. Zero taxes, kings of their own personal fiefdoms. Recessions are good things when you have the means to buy the stock market at a deep discount and property can be gobbled up cheaply.
The people cheering all of this on who don't have the foresight to see the problems and suffering that will be created will only care when it touches them personally.
And I hope it touches them really hard. Remember this: we tried to warn you.
We really Tried ❤️
Crusades said:So you are basically saying that the voters in the 2024 presidential election that secured the presidency fior Trump who also won the popular vote and flipped all 7 swing states are ignorant and selfish? You hope they suffer because they didn't vote the same way you did?
If what you predict happens and I am "suffering really hard" because I voted for Trump, ill be sure to remember that you "tried to warn" me.
We tried to warn the democrats that insulting, demonizing and defaming everyday normal Republican voters would cost them the 2024 election and the majorities in the government. So I guess I'll say "we warned you". However I would never hope for "suffering " on people who vote differently or do not share my political opinion.
I haven't had a chance to see you post before so, Hello...
You seem triggered by Accolay's message which was beautifully written btw. I don't think the writer wants harm inflicted on your personally and I think you know that too but let me ask you something. Are you happy with the current state of affairs? Are you happy with what is going on here in the US? Answer honestly
Tweety said:Interesting takeaway because I read the same post and I'm not seeing where the poster was hoping for suffering. But saying that voters might not have seen some of the suffering when they voted for him rings a bit true to me.
They voted for him and their 401Ks are taking a hit.
Some of his voters are worried about losing their Obamacare.
I'm hearing some anecdotal about people that voted for Trump that are now laid off from work and didn't see that coming.
The USDA cut a billion from a food program and the children that benefited might have had parents that voted for him, the farmers that depended on the program that supplied the food might have voted for him.
Importers and exporters aren't happy.
I saw a Trump supporter in education somewhere saying he supported Trump but not in the way it's hurting his school. Highlighting the idea people don't care until it affects them.
Trump voters in North Carolina still suffering from the flooding are regretting their vote because of DOGE cuts to FEMA grants.
Still others that aren't affected by any of this are cheering them on. Others are saying that it's going to have to hurt to heal.
I do want a more efficient government without fraud or waste. I want a booming economy and a good stock market. I don't want anyone to suffer because of Trump or circumstances out of his control.
While all of this is going on Trump did a commercial at the White House for the richest man in the world for Tesla cars. Not a good look.
Welp, NVM, Tweety came in with the layup
heron said:Oh boo hoo! Suffering for the people you personally dislike/disapprove of is exactly what you voted for.
Many people in my religion believe that the energy you put out comes back to you three times over. I don't need to wish suffering on you, you did it to yourself.
agree, mmmhmm. and let's see
It's not like they.......didn't...try....to overthrow.....the govt...before..
toomuchbaloney said:I think it means that too many Trump voters will never admit to the harm of Trump's incompetent, corrupt, and vindictive policy unless and until they experience that harm themselves. Some will need a really memorable experience to comprehend the point and not just blame someone else for Trump's actions. I think that's what it means.
It was Musk and Trump that insisted that some people were going to have to suffer. Trump said just the other day that "it has to be done" and that his tariffs will bring back "stolen wealth". Some of us know that We the People pay the tariffs. Apparently the billionaires running our country think that we've stolen their wealth so they're going to take it back using tariffs. They are hoping that their supporters don't wake up.
It's commitment to the character to the point of idolatry at this point. They are attracted to the mission. Unfortunately, they will not wake up until it affects them personally and even then, they still may not wake up
Decades and Years of Government people, business, contracts, federal funding and aid, research, scholars, etc.... gone. If that doesn't WAKE YOU UP!

While Pete is planning military exercises with his family in off the record Signal chats, Trump's DOGE team is adding layers of activities for people to waste time on before they can receive their already approved monies for precisely defined purposes. They call that efficient and millions believe them for some inexplicable reason.
