Took the test today with 80 questions!!!!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

So I took my NCLEX RN today and stoped at 80 questions. I know they say not to freak out based on the number of questions you got but I have not heard of anyone getting 80 questions. I have heard like either 75 or 265. I felt like I was guessing the whole time. There were a ton of priority questions, and I felt like I was guessing at those too. Anyone else in the same boat as me? :crying2::crying2::crying2:

I took mine this morning and it stopped at 80 something, I was just concentrating on answering questions and all of the sudden the screen went blue and I thought to myself, oh my gosh... it stopped, the last number I saw was 83. I have no idea what to think, I had about 5 SATA, lots of teaching, assessments, some pharms about diet and adv effects, priority questions, no calculations ( I heard it's good if you don't get calculations), diseases and what to look for, lab values and what to consider, who would I see or assess first. It took me about 2.5 hours but I took 2 breaks because Im 7 months pregnant and needed to pee. :D

Im so nervous and I really hope we all pass, this test is so hard to predict. I felt that most of the questions were not so hard this time around (3rd for me ) and I knew most of the questions but I could be wrong. I'm not sure that was a good sign feeling that the questions were easy. I hope I studied enough to pass.

Well, we will see in about 24-48 hours for result. GOOD LUCK to all of us waiting for the results. :wshgrt:

Yeah that kinda sounds like my test, though I think I only got like 3 SATA thank goodness cause I hate those, though some people say those are the easiest!! I think they are crazy. Good luck to you!

Number of questions on the exam means nothing in determining if one passes, and any number can be game.

Getting the last question right or wrong also does not determine anything.

It is impossible to second guess what your result is going to be. The good thing that you have on your side is that 85% pass the first time that they test if they trained in the US, so that is in your favor as well.

And then you can look at it from the other side, what if you had to wait several months for results and the exam was only offered two times per year as it was before the NCLEX when each state had their own specific exam and the results were not accepted in all states. If you wished to move to another state, chances were high that you would have to write an exam again.

I just found out that I passed the NCLEX!!!!!! I cannot believe it. I am still stunned and I am so very happy. Thank you to everyone for giving strong vibes and encouragement!!

Congratulations! :yeah:

CCAKES, many of us have been in your position, no offense, lol. When did you take your test?

Congrats CCakes! I took mine yesterday (Tuesday). I had 75 questions and took it in less than an hour, but I was a little freaked because I got tons of endocrinology - and I'm secure in my endocrine knowledge! Turns out 2 others from my class who took it with me had 75 and 80 questions and ALSO had tons of endocrine! So I'm thinking it's just the flavor of the day. I feel pretty good and am just waiting for results - hopefully by tomorrow! Congrats again - maybe I'll be the one getting congratulations tomorrow!!!
