Once again The View has tried damage control from the onslaught of enraged Nurses and Nursing Students related to the Stetho-gate debackle of 2015. I heard today that they invited a group of nurses on the show in order to show their love and appreciation for our choosen profession.
But now I wonder if anyone will say anything about the fact that there was not a single male nurse on the show?
I doubt that this will change anything, or add more wood to the fire. But It does seem in bad taste. Even though it is a female dominated profession and female cast with female audience, I'm sure they have had male guests before.

There was a male nurse. He did most of the speaking. He was one of the two guests who was interviewed

I didn't have the chance to see it, but I feel it was a bit excessive. What was said was said. It garnered the attention and support it deserved. And now it's time to move forward feeling satisfied that nurses have come to the forefront of the media, gotten the exposure for the work they do, and use this as a platform to continue educating the general public on how nurses' fit into the larger healthcare system.

I'll have to try and see it. In general, apologies that are made because of bad press don't ring true to me. Would they have had nurses on their show had Michelle and Joy not run their mouths off like the idiots they are?

The Associate Professor and Sim Lab NP from NYU did a poor job of explaining the role, responsibilities, unrealistic customer service expectations and poor working conditions of the bedside nurse. They only explained their jobs as an educator and a midwife.
They could have kept it real and explained how our frustrations came to a head over this incident but they were as boring as watching paint dry.
Distributing stethoscopes to the view cohosts was stupid and childish.
There was not one nurse over 35 on that stage and I'm sure that was intentional. The whole charade made Registered Nurses look like nitwits.

I agree. When he opened with "Sometimes we don't feel like the most respected", I thought that there would be some discussion related to the working conditions or something. Afterwards, I was honestly confused what their purpose on the show was, except to see Joy put her stethoscope on Michelle's right side (I don't know whether or not that was a joke. I really hope it was) and declare her dead.

Before you say there were no males, you should watch the clip.
I just did and as others have stated, lots of nurses who also happened to be male.
I did have to chuckle because Joy put her stethoscope on backwards and listened for the heart beat of her co-host's chest on the RIGHT side of her chest and said something like "you are dead".
It definitely looked like an attempt at damage control. I ams sure the guests were given a narrow scope of appropriate topics. I too thought that the stethoscope distribution could have been eliminated.
