QuoteThe abortion law builds on legislation passed in 2010 that represented a major shift for a traditionally Catholic country, transforming Spain into one of the most progressive countries in Europe on reproductive rights. Spain's constitutional court last week rejected a challenge by the right-wing Popular Party against allowing abortions in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy.
The debate will be heated in Spain, I imagine, as the conservative opposition pushes back. My daughter had horrible menstrual pain during her adolescence and young adulthood. I'm certain that she would have benefitted from that time.

Similarly, I have no idea what you are thinking when you talk about Biden and his dead son being a "protocol point". That just seems like mean spirited baloney about the current president.
I could hazard a guess as to why you, once again, you say that Harris's ethnicity is exploited. It's almost as if you believe that a black/ Indian woman can campaign as anything except a black and Indian woman. The fact that you keep bringing it up points to some importance to YOU. Why don't you tell me why Harris's ethnicity is so important to you? I don't want to assume what you are thinking after being advised that such commentary really does have racist undertones.
I'm wondering why you are trying to make a political point by specifically questioning how the black woman represents herself. Explain to me how that's not based in racism.
I think using your dead child in a speech that doesn't make sense is weird, crude and disgusting. However inappropriate behavior is common with those suffering from dementia so I guess it can be dismissed.
Her ethnicity isn't important to me at all. However you must ascertain her gender and race and highlight it in almost every rant you post.
Why is it so important to YOU?

You are allowed to think that referencing a deceased loved one in remarks weird. Its pretty common but, you do you.
Nice projection.
It is historic that a black/ Indian woman is nominated for the presidency of the USA. That's something to celebrate.
Are you celebrating?

She already told you her race isn't a consideration for her, perhaps you might stop baiting her and drop it. (Not that you aren't being baited either). But you do you.
For some of us she rose to the top despite her gender and color and it shows how far we've come as a nation. This wouldn't have happened in the 40's and 50's. That should be celebrated.
Sadly, others are saying she rose to the top because of her race and gender and that's it, not hard work.
For some of us it's her stance on issues that are a deciding factor. Conservatives still aren't going to like her stance on abortion, spending, the border failures etc. They are not going to celebrate her being nominated when they don't like her and wouldn't like a white man with the same agenda either. They've gone after Walz as well. There's nothing misogynist and racist about that.
Her stance on issues aligns well with mine and if she's elected with President, I will swell with Pride that we will have our first female President that is also a woman of color. It certainly is historic. No matter how you say "race isn't a factor" it is a big deal.

You're right, I'll just do my thing and respond the way I do when people behave like trolls and agitators while pretending they actually want to have a discussion.
I'm gonna call out the baseline racism and misogyny and the lies and the fabrications and the delusions and the evidence that the emperor has no clothes. I'm not going to be any more polite that members are to me. Yes, I know it's tedious, but Trump brings out the worst in people, even me. I never was a big fan of Michelle Obama's call for us to go high when they go low. I was pretty sure that doesn't work as a strategy against propaganda and pathological liars with no moral or ethical compass.
He certainly created a permissive environment for some old ugliness that has long swirled around gender and race in this country.

I know you're not going to change and you don't care how you present yourself (and it's not as someone that wants to have a discussion). So carry on. I'll just do my thing and respond the way I do.

I just posted about this in the election thread. His ancestors are clearly rolling over in their graves right now, not that they aren't tired from doing so before he endorsed Trump.
I'm surprised no one thought of this bit of news to be interesting.

"Meta CEO admits Biden-Harris admin pressured company to censor Americans
Mark Zuckerberg: 'I believe the government pressure was wrong, and I regret that we were not more outspoken about it'"
I remember seeing posts on Facebook "post removed for providing false information about covid 19". As a health care professional, whose hospital was on the brink of disaster, I was dismayed at the ignorance of the general public and glad for the "censorship".
I think the government, social media and the CDC and medical establishment were doing the best they could at the time. He says ""I also think we made some choices that, with the benefit of hindsight and new information, we wouldn't make today,"
Fair enough. I'm sure in hindsight a lot of organizations are thinking the same thing. The Biden administration even has said there are things he would do differently such as not locking down for every surge.
You live and you learn. But taking down a post "It's a hoax and there's a cure the government doesn't want you to know about, all you need to do is inhale bleach, they just want to control you sheep". Is dangerous enough to take down in my opinion. At the end of the day Meta is a private organization and they make these decisions right or wrong, pleasing to conspiracy theorists or not. They are still doing it.

Just curious ... how is this different from banning books?

I'm not sure, but I think this was regards to the Biden administration pressuring Facebook to block disinformation about COVID-19, reasoning that the public interest outweighed Facebook posters' First Amendment rights.
You don't yell "Fire" in a crowded theatre, you don't tell people that masks are useless and to eat horse dewormer.
