QuoteThe abortion law builds on legislation passed in 2010 that represented a major shift for a traditionally Catholic country, transforming Spain into one of the most progressive countries in Europe on reproductive rights. Spain's constitutional court last week rejected a challenge by the right-wing Popular Party against allowing abortions in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy.
The debate will be heated in Spain, I imagine, as the conservative opposition pushes back. My daughter had horrible menstrual pain during her adolescence and young adulthood. I'm certain that she would have benefitted from that time.
Crusades said:I'm embarrassed for Biden everyday. Mostly because of his dementia and how his family engages in senior abuse for power. Also because even if all these things you repetitively say about Trump arre true, Biden is still not competent to be POTUS. LOL
By the way, constant repetition of words and phrases is a form of propaganda. Highly utilized by the democrat party.....
That's OK. You likely feel all manner of things that I would find disconnected from reality.
If those things are true about Trump? If?
They are all true. You just are ignorant of the facts and details. That's another choice.
Court cases. Evidence. Sworn testimony. That's all available to you but you rely on the guy who recommends ignoring inconvenient parts of the constitution to tell you what to believe. That's a choice but it makes you feel good for some reason.
No, you are very wrong, Biden has proven to be a competent and effective president even when confronted with a completely dysfunctional republican party.
Repeating truth and facts is not propaganda, duh. You're trying too hard.
toomuchbaloney said:No it's not in the interest of anything beyond partisan politics to release the recordings. Republicans can challenge Biden's privilege in court if they want. They seem to like courtrooms.
Sure.
In your opinion, why do you think Biden, (by way of Garland), doesn't want the tapes released?
NRSKarenRN said:Republican propaganda as sworn report already released to the public which I'd read and certain phrases taken out of context per report on certain right wing sources.
Plus, audio recordings are prime sources of the raw materials of deepfakes. Which are probably legal. I think it was Obama's campaign, or maybe earlier, that sued over deceptively edited video - a la Project Veritas. It went to the SJC (I think). They pretty much said that deceptive advertising as part of a political campaign is protected speech. Why hand over samples of Biden discussing sensitive subjects?
Maybe the DOJ should file a request for a special master! (Tee hee …)

Because they aren't needed. There's nothing to see. The content will only be cut up and manipulated and used in right wing campaigning. That's the history of republican interactions with this stuff.

Sure. As if there isn't already enough footage of him, and Trump too, to be "cut up and manipulated" to make a million political ads. As if it doesn't already happen.
Are you sure they simply don't want people to hear what Hur heard, and come to the same conclusion that he has a faulty memory? Maybe they don't want the public hear him refuse to answer questions about if he realized keeping the documents was against the law?
It really doesn't matter. He is the current president running for reelection who was being investigated. The public should be allowed to see. We are the ones who should decide that "there is nothing to see."
None of the above reasons, including the one you gave, are a legitimate reason to invoke executive privilege. It's almost like they're trying to withhold information from the public eye in order to influence the election, eh?

Exactly. They have other footage that they've edited and misrepresented to try to make Biden look as bad as Trump. Republican groups and individuals are somewhat famous for that deceit. They certainly don't need more.
They already heard directly from Hur what his impressions were and they don't seem to be satisfied with that. They already have the certified transcripts and they don't seen to be satisfied with that. They hear and see Biden regularly and they can assess his cognitive function from that.
Did the Hur report or sworn testimony give you the idea that Biden refused to answer questions or didn't fully cooperate with Hur's investigation? Maybe you could cite that bit of his findings so we could discuss it.
We have already seen that there is nothing there to see. We saw that Biden discovered documents in his possession that he shouldn't have had. Biden engaged his staff to search for other, similar documents unintentionally retained. Biden contacted the proper authorities. Biden immediately released all identified items. Biden cooperated fully. There was an exhaustive investigation and a report was filed finding that the situation did not support criminal prosecution. The investigator provided sworn testimony and answered questions about his investigation and about his conclusions that was a portion of a televised congressional hearing. Have you ignored all of that? That is more than sufficient.
Oh well. You and Trump sychophants don't think it's proper executive privilege. Dang. Take Biden to court and challenge that. I bet the RNC has some money to spend on that. Maybe Biden will lose that court challenge like Trump lost his.
Meanwhile, who can blame Biden's team for recognizing that Trump Republicans are not limited by ethics or morals and they will edit any audio or video of Biden to create a false narrative to benefit Trump? You can't blame them for understanding that the members of Trump's political party have zero fidelity to honesty.

There is no way I believe that you think the Republicans or conservative groups are alone in trying to make the other side look bad. C'mon, man!
No, apparently they aren't satisfied. I'm not either. So what? If there is audio or video, let's see it. The WH was angry about Hur's comments. Here's their chance to show us he was wrong. What really are they afraid of? If it's what you're trying to have us believe, I guess he better not ever speak on public again. His words might be cut up and manipulated. They should just put out written statements from him.
Of course they're going to take him to court. Team Biden knows, and knows they'll lose. They're just going to stall as long as they can.
This discussion started with you saying Republicans were wasting time. It seems this could all go away quick if their is 'nothing to see".

I don't think that republicans are the only political party who try to make the other look bad. You must have imagined that.
The White House said why. I told you why. There's no need for Biden to hide just like there's no reason for him to give House Republicans the audio of the interview.
The Republicans ARE wasting time. Nothing about what they are doing is addressing the border or addressing inflation or housing, or any of the things that the American people are interested in. No, this wouldn't go away quick. That's a ridiculous claim. There's nothing quick about the republican search for dirt and damaging information about Trump's political opponents. Nothing. How long have they been investigating him with absolutely nothingto show for it? C'mon man

It's only okay when the democrats do it. Duhhh.
