QuoteThe abortion law builds on legislation passed in 2010 that represented a major shift for a traditionally Catholic country, transforming Spain into one of the most progressive countries in Europe on reproductive rights. Spain's constitutional court last week rejected a challenge by the right-wing Popular Party against allowing abortions in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy.
The debate will be heated in Spain, I imagine, as the conservative opposition pushes back. My daughter had horrible menstrual pain during her adolescence and young adulthood. I'm certain that she would have benefitted from that time.
Crusades said:The biblical referenced are ridiculous. Where was the Devine intervention for the innocent man killed?
Perhaps there's something to take from this. A Devine message? Probably not but....
A registered republican voter who most recently donated to a progressive Democrat organization may be interpreted as a sign that instead of polarizing us further, it could be a call for unity? Hopefully we can learn some lessons.
I have a feeling that it will come out that another person of the same name was a registered republican. As for a gun lover I heard this is because of a shirt he was wearing that alloted to a gun group.
Who knows but there will be allot of rhet
Religious zealots can find and claim divine messaging or guidance in any situation or circumstance, right?
It's difficult to imagine how assassination of a presidential candidate could be a call for unity.
The republican party registration form included details, like street address, which match this guy. He was registered as a republican so that he could vote in his first presidential primary and election this year. As far as I know, the donation hasn't been narrowed to that level of detail yet. He certainly isn't the only Matthew Crooks in the state who might make a small donation. He certainly might have made the donation.
Or the idea that he liked guns may have come from people who knew him. The shirt is kind of specific to YouTube genre revolving around guns. Maybe that's all a coincidence or the shirt wasn't his.

I do not feel a indoctrinated cult follower would attempt to kill the cult leader tho! No?
Okay, but you're quoting me and I never said he was a cult follower or a Trump supporter, just that I was jumping to the conclusion that he was a gun supporter and a registered Republican. I didn't spin it further than that.

Is it in evidence that the young man was an indoctrinated member of a cult? It's been pointed out repeatedly that not all Republicans are Trump supporters or cult members. There's usually rhetoric or behavior which identifies people as indoctrinated or a member of a cult.

The shooter had donated to a Democrat organization, but yeah he was a registered Republican and a gun lover. Guess we won't really ever know what was going on his his head.
Today I read, "When you try and kill God's angels and saviors of the world it just makes them bigger.” Is it any wonder "cult" is used about these people.

Oh yeah. He deserved it. Notice his little Mussolini fist waving and shouts of "Fight" while being led away. If only someone has assassinated Hitler before the war. So many Americans and others in Europe would have been saved. The problem is that a bystander was killed and he was the father of kids However, if the bullet went an inch to the right, I would have felt safer. I want him no where near the nuclear codes. Hopefully the generals will protect us again.

That's just ugly.
I love how people are so anti-violence when any kind of shooting occurs but Trump has an assignation problem and it's "no problem and too bad he missed"
I'll being taking a hiatus from these forums for a bit. See you on the other side of something that brings me some peace.

No.
Violence is never the answer, in spite of the violent rhetoric and imagery used by our political celebrities. Even though Trump uses lots of violent language and suggestive messaging, it is NOT smart or effective to employ violence to achieve a political goal in a functioning democracy or republic. We are a nation of laws to provide for order and the general health and welfare of the population at large.
This assassination attempt only made the crazy and dangerous threat to our country appear as a sympathetic victim or a strong leader unafraid of death to his devoted fan base. The assassination attempt only provides fuel for the right wing propagandists to spin a narrative about the violence.
If Trump had been killed you might have felt safer for a moment, but you likely wouldn't have been safer. In order to be safe from the MAGA agenda that Trump represents, we must beat it again at the ballot box. Part of beating Trump is speaking difficult or uncomfortable truth but violence is not.

No. Violence is never the answer. Especially if it might invoke sympathy for the victim. Can't have that now can we? The violence is only a secondary factor.
Rhetoric like Biden stating that "Trump and MAGA republican extremist are a danger to our country and need to be stopped at all costs"?
Refering and likening him to Hitler for 7 yrs?
Hysterics like Trump will be a authorative dictator that will force women to have babies and serve men" ? That's kind of Rhetoric
You think that may have had something to do with the attempted assination against Trump? A little?
If the democrats say Trump is guilty if inciting a "insurrection" by making false claims and telling his supporters to " peacfully and patriotically make their voices heard" then Biden and the radical democrats are guilty of inciting an assination. Made your bed, lay in it.

Do you suppose that type of vulgar rhetoric had anything to do with the attempted assisanation of Trump?
Disgusting

Yes according to you supporting Trump or not catering to "Trump is hitler" garbage.... is a indoctrinated cult member.
Pretty sure it was a MAGA cult victim trying to take out the Devine leader. No?
