QuoteThe abortion law builds on legislation passed in 2010 that represented a major shift for a traditionally Catholic country, transforming Spain into one of the most progressive countries in Europe on reproductive rights. Spain's constitutional court last week rejected a challenge by the right-wing Popular Party against allowing abortions in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy.
The debate will be heated in Spain, I imagine, as the conservative opposition pushes back. My daughter had horrible menstrual pain during her adolescence and young adulthood. I'm certain that she would have benefitted from that time.

I didn't pay or urge to have him shot but I'm not crying over it either. When you promote violence, sometimes you get violence in return.
Wasn't he going to incarcerate his political opponents during his first term?
Crusades said:No. Violence is never the answer. Especially if it might invoke sympathy for the victim. Can't have that now can we? The violence is only a secondary factor.
Rhetoric like Biden stating that "Trump and MAGA republican extremist are a danger to our country and need to be stopped at all costs"?
Refering and likening him to Hitler for 7 yrs?
Hysterics like Trump will be a authorative dictator that will force women to have babies and serve men" ? That's kind of Rhetoric
You think that may have had something to do with the attempted assination against Trump? A little?
If the democrats say Trump is guilty if inciting a "insurrection" by making false claims and telling his supporters to " peacfully and patriotically make their voices heard" then Biden and the radical democrats are guilty of inciting an assination. Made your bed, lay in it.
You may spin and mischaracterize my words as you prefer.
Trump and MAGA are a threat to our republic. It would be foolish to ignore the very real ideology that is at the core of Trumpism andthe MAGA agenda.
You should provide Biden's exact quote and context, otherwise I'm going to guess that was your summation of Biden's words. This is what I do know. Biden recently spoke in terms of using the term "bullseye" in communication to focus efforts and attention on Trump. Biden has since publicly stated that language choice was a mistake and that he will try to do better. That's not something that Biden's opponent would do.
Trump is very much like Hitler. That is an uncomfortable reality. Would you like to explore the ways they are similar? I've read a couple of excellent books on the subject and there are lots of scholarly essays available if you know where to look.
Are you trying to start a conspiracy theory about what motivated that young conservative to violent action with an AR? It kind of sounds like a wild speculation to me.
There's that odd logic again.
Trump invited a mob to DC on 010621 vs Biden didn't invite anyone to go anywhere or do anything. Where's Biden's incitement of an assassination attempt?
Trump lied about the 2020 election and still lies about it today. Biden hasn't lied about Trump.
I've asked before and I'll ask again, what inspired those people on January 6th to attack the Capitol? What got them so riled up that a veteran would crawl through a barricade after being told to stop and get herself shot to death? What were they hoping to achieve, as you understand it?
I haven't made any uncomfortable bed to lie in.
Crusades said:Yes according to you supporting Trump or not catering to "Trump is hitler" garbage.... is a indoctrinated cult member.
Pretty sure it was a MAGA cult victim trying to take out the Devine leader. No?
That's your interpretation. If you prefer to lump all Trump voters together that's your prerogative. I think there are different types of Trump voters, not all of them are cult members. But you do you.
If you want to call the shooter a MAGA cult victim trying to take out the "divine leader", you may. I'm guessing that you're trying to be sarcastic or something and I'm reminded that you noted that I engage with you in a "hostile" fashion.
Pot, meet kettle.

I definitely agree that people who use lots of violent imagery or language shouldn't be surprised by the occurrence of violence.
The whole question about Hitler is certainly an exercise in philosophical hindsight. In not sure this forum is the place for that cerebral of an undertaking.
Crusades said:Wasn't he going to incarcerate his political opponents during his first term?
Was he? He did have his rally crowds chanting "lock her up" as a sort of ritual but after Trump was elected, Jeff Sessions was not able to produce the evidence to accomplish that task.
I remember that, don't you?

Comparing Trump to Hitler or any political figure to any giving dictator is fallacy. Besides, that's what was said in 2016. Guess what? No concentration camps and forced pregnancy bunkers....
My husband has periods of excitement and depression sometimes but does not mean he is bi-polar. Cherry picked characteristics isn't enough to allocate someone to Hitler. This is pure propagandic garbage. Designed to invoke fear and hysteria. Looks like it worked for one recently diseased man.
Did Biden say it was a poor choice of words to say "put Trump into a bullseye " And he is super sorry? Well it seems that's exactly what that young assassin try hard did. Is that incitement? Perhaps he should have said, "peacfully and patriotically put Trump in a bullseye " then it definitely would be incitement?
The hypocrisy is nauseating.
Well what if Biden was almost assassinated after Trump said something like benign "sleepy Joe must go" what would you be saying? And God forbid if Trump alluded to Biden as what you aim for when target practicing with your guns? I do not think you would be so forgiving. Or accept an apology.
Quote"Donald Trump and the Maga Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our Republic,” Biden said in remarks delivered at Independence Hall.
And keep pretending Biden hasn't reference Hitler to Trump many times.
This would mean the attempted assassin of Trump would be a hero for taking him out. It would be great and ethical to kill Hitler. Right?. I wonder if that was what the shooter was going for? I wonder why?
The attempted assassin is to be blamed for his actions but if you wannt to place blame on Trump for what people do because of what he says, then let's do the same for Biden.
If anything it will expose the blatant hypocrisy of far left zealots and hysterical democrats.

Comparing historical fascists to modern day authoritarians is absolutely appropriate. Trump's own VP choice compared Trump to Hitler.
Your second paragraph is conflating mental illness diagnosis with voluntary association with people who share your values or ideology.
No Biden didn't say he was "super sorry". I guess you didn't listen to what he did say, eh? Maybe its not so important to you that you would want to hear what he said with your own ears.
Why don't you go ahead and speculate about what you think that I would be saying had a liberal had just tried to shoot Biden at a campaign event. You have probably given that more thought than me.
Biden really didn't need to apologize for anything but it showed humility for him to address it and talk about increasing civility and choosing different language.
Trump also gets to be held accountable for what he says. You still can't tell me why all of those people were so angry in 0106 or why they attacked the Capitol police and broke into the Capitol building. Why were they so angry? Why did they assemble and then attack the building. Were they trying to stop the transition of power? What motivated them, as a crowd, to do that?
Now tell me what Biden said that might have motivated that young man. Was that shooter on the call to the Biden donors when he said that about the bullseye? No? Well then, maybe he just read about it in the media reports. Is that the same as hearing an impassioned speech which is encouraging people to stop a steal or to fight like hell for their country? Maybe you think it is.
If you think that you can expose some crazy liberal hypocrisy on this subject this forum is a good place to explore your evidence.
As I've said, it's appropriate to compare current leaders to historical leaders... especially when there are so many shared characteristics. I wouldn't have a problem with Biden making the comparison because Trump is very similar to Hitler.

I would recommend to anyone who thinks this ISN'T a repeat of 1937 to read The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich. The resemblence of Trumps about the unity theory and and the chararacter of the people he chooses to be around him are strricking familiar. BTY, my condolences to Melania.

Well, I just read a new piece of irony. The AR-15 used was manufactured by DPMS weapons and Trump made a campaign stop there kn 2023. This story just keeps giving.
