QuoteThe abortion law builds on legislation passed in 2010 that represented a major shift for a traditionally Catholic country, transforming Spain into one of the most progressive countries in Europe on reproductive rights. Spain's constitutional court last week rejected a challenge by the right-wing Popular Party against allowing abortions in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy.
The debate will be heated in Spain, I imagine, as the conservative opposition pushes back. My daughter had horrible menstrual pain during her adolescence and young adulthood. I'm certain that she would have benefitted from that time.

He's so thoughtful and insightful....LOL
Given what I've seen out of MAGA he probably isn't wrong. It's at least a factor.
He is just setting himself up to be mocked.

I don't think that the nuance of Biden's statement was comprehended by the other member.
People don't have to set themselves up to be mocked by MAGA when MAGA has already targeted them for mocking. Even if Biden died peacefully in his sleep Trump and his fans would mock Joe Biden because Joe Biden was a smarter and better president than Trump.

I thought you were done talking about Biden?

Touche.
I'm pretty much done talking about his presidency, whether or not he has dementia, what he did and didn't do, what democrats did and didn't do prior to losing the election.
Obviously I'm not done talking about him and what he is saying in the present time. But I do wish he'd go away.

Biden should go away like Trump did after his single term? I'm not sure why a different standard should apply to Biden in the era of Trump.

You're correct. Ex-Presidents don't necessarily have to go away. They have a role to play in their party and their organizations. Bush, Jr. lays relatively low but the Clintons and Obamas are active and I have no problem with that.
I do wish he'd stop airing his grievances with "I could have beaten Trump" and let the party heal and lay low out of politics for a bit. In my opinion. He'd be better off just doing some service work, taking a page out of the Jimmy Carter playbook before getting back into the political arena.
There's enough infighting in the Democrat party between the Chair and Vice Chair without him saying "well you wouldn't be having any problems had you let me stay".

He should feel misused and betrayed by his political party. What they did by trying to cover up his cognitive decline and when it became too obvious and they couldn't cover it anymore they replaced him with Harris. He has every right to say how he feels about it.
Is the Biden dementia cover-up more impressive than the Trump dementia cover-up? Which of the two dementia victims is currently tanking the economy and global alliances? Is it the one saying incredibly stupid things about his duties and admitting that he doesn't know what's going on or is it the one who is writing a book?

Umm ... baloney. Yes, Biden's party and campaign strategists flubbed the issue badly, but not for the reasons you implied. The whole Biden decline schtick was designed to distract from trump's mental and emotional disability ... something that was fairly obvious - and commented on - early in his first term.
All the duckspeak in the world doesn't change the fact that, for right wingnuts, accusation is confession.
I obviously have a very different theory of the case. Until historians get their hands on more primary material, my opinion remains speculative. Actually, it would be an interesting discussion, but unlikely to happen here.

"Biden decline schtick"?
Many of us saw the decline and spoke up about it with examples well before we even imagined Trump was going to run.
LOL....was George Clooney in on the "schtick"? About the folks from within the administration and press who have admitted they had covered up for him? Maybe Robert Hur was too?
Heck, how about Biden himself? Was the debate performance all part of the "schtick"?

Millions of direct and indirect jobs and billions added to the GDP are at stake while the republican congress ignores their oaths and constitutional duties.
