Quote

The abortion law builds on legislation passed in 2010 that represented a major shift for a traditionally Catholic country, transforming Spain into one of the most progressive countries in Europe on reproductive rights. Spain's constitutional court last week rejected a challenge by the right-wing Popular Party against allowing abortions in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy.

The debate will be heated in Spain, I imagine, as the conservative opposition pushes back. My daughter had horrible menstrual pain during her adolescence and young adulthood.  I'm certain that she would have benefitted from that time.

I don't doubt he asked.  So what?  If protesters are looting and burning down cities, I don't see that it was an outrageous question to ask.

He got the answer,  and seems he never brought it up again.

You and another poster conflate protesting with looting. Trump wanted to shoot the protesters in DC. He was not talking about the looting (much of which was done by people other than BLM demonstrators) happening in other cities.

Trump had people around him who resisted/refused to do shoot border crossers, protesters, prosecute his political enemies, disrupt investigations. They were fired. He has stated that he will appoint people more loyal to him. And now the SCOTUS has ruled the president is above the law.
Hegseth for one, has written in his book that shooting may be necessary. He pushed for the pardon of war criminals.

I asked you to cite examples of Trump ordering that protesters or illegal aliens be shot.

As I quoted, the Pentagon stands behind Esper's memoir, as do others who were present. That is credible to me. While there is much that I don't agree with Mark Esper on, I believe him to be a credible person. He served honorably in the Army, as Secretary of the Army, and Sec. of Defense. But that's not good enough for you.

Well, that is the question for people who serve in the upcoming administration. Does obeying an unlawful order of the president excuse an illegal action?

If Biden ordered Trump to be thrown in jail tomorrow without a trial, for life imprisonment, would that be illegal? Biden, after all, is till the President, and will be until January 20.

Well. Trump won the election including popular vote. Probably because the American people saw the multidepartment propaganda campaign against him. That doesn't seem good enough for you. Meh. Such is life.

People said he was a nazi dictator the first time and all the way up to the election win. Nobody believes that crap anymore. At least not the majority if American people. Who saw him win the Hispanic vote more than the 1970s.  A republican that is. They didn't care about Harris' gentitaila or skin color.  The very people he was suppose to "oppress".

Trump was president for four years.  Please cite examples of this happening.

The insurrection.  Mark Meadows isn't having any luck with the courts for his participation.  He was told to "go fight" along with all the other morons who had to go to jail or otherwise had their lives affected.

I'm pretty sure the people "looting" have nearly the exact same ideas that the " BLM protestors" do. They've been taught by race pirates that they are entitled to take because of "oporession".

Cities were burnt down?  That's hystericalizing.

Not only that, at least 23 people died during the "peaceful protest" that ironically were mostly black people.

Entire city blocks were overtaken and occupied by  "Chaz autonomous zone". Police stations abandoned......

Hardly "hystericalizing ".

Why would he hire disloyal people?

My facility most certainly does not so why would the POTUS?  Perhaps it can be classified as a new DEI program?

Sounds like the Fox News version of events.  Supposedly Portland was burned to the ground.  What other cities were burned down?

Maybe a strong arm with a government that shoots it's Citazens is in order.  Instill fear of protesting.   Worked in 1970 at Kent right?

OK.  We'll go with large groups of people burning cars and buildings, looting, taking over a govt building, blocking highwats, etc.

Maybe that description works better for you and @subee?

Did Trump order that any of them be shot?

This whole post is a mish mash of exaggerated talking points.
