QuoteThe abortion law builds on legislation passed in 2010 that represented a major shift for a traditionally Catholic country, transforming Spain into one of the most progressive countries in Europe on reproductive rights. Spain's constitutional court last week rejected a challenge by the right-wing Popular Party against allowing abortions in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy.
The debate will be heated in Spain, I imagine, as the conservative opposition pushes back. My daughter had horrible menstrual pain during her adolescence and young adulthood. I'm certain that she would have benefitted from that time.
Loyalty to Trump has its perks.
Take the nomination for Attorney General. Matt Gaetz has been a loyal Trump supporter. Thankfully it's one that needs to be confirmed and surely the senate won't appoint him? Surely?

That confirmation hearing could get spicy.
nursej22 said:Of course, you don't. According to former Sec. of Def. Mark Esper, Trump asked if protesters of the George Floyd murder, could be shot in the legs. This was reported in Esper's memoir, "A Sacred Oath."
I don't consider "memoirs " credible info. You just misrepresented his words, so there is no reason why this person wouldn't do so as well.
There's been several times his words have been distorted. I've already provided examples.

Yeah and the commander and chief of the constitution is the POTUS.
Right. So the 75 722 million people that voted for him got it wrong? Or was it the 312 electoral votes that did?
Pretty sure treason against the POTUS and/or the country is a crime.

That's why Trump was talking about Recess Appointments to get him and Tulsi Gabbard( National Intelligence) , Pete Heseth (Sec. Defense) along with upcoming appointees in.

As I quoted, the Pentagon stands behind Esper's memoir, as do others who were present. That is credible to me. While there is much that I don't agree with Mark Esper on, I believe him to be a credible person. He served honorably in the Army, as Secretary of the Army, and Sec. of Defense. But that's not good enough for you.

Well, that is the question for people who serve in the upcoming administration. Does obeying an unlawful order of the president excuse an illegal action?
If Biden ordered Trump to be thrown in jail tomorrow without a trial, for life imprisonment, would that be illegal? Biden, after all, is till the President, and will be until January 20.

All thoes things would be illegal for Trump to do.
The fear mongering is sooo Oct. 2024.

There are over 1000 positions that require Senate confirmation. Recess appointments aren't the preferred way as they aren't permanent. But to get them done and get going on his agenda, seems like he's wise to use that to his advantage. Wouldn't you agree?
Tweety said:Yes, we all know from the many times it was mentioned that Trump won the popular vote.
I took it with a grain of salt, but I think the reference was when Esper said that Trump asked about shooting the BLM protesters, not sure if it meant looters. It was widely reported he said "Can't you just shoot them, just shoot them in the legs or something?" Then again, there is no proof and could just be all a made up story by his Defense Secretary, since Trump is such a victim. He fired Esper so it could just be sour grapes.
Trump has his own wiki page devoted to his dismissals and resignations. This is what I was referencing that started this rabbit hole.

I don't doubt he asked. So what? If protesters are looting and burning down cities, I don't see that it was an outrageous question to ask.
He got the answer, and seems he never brought it up again.
Beerman said:Trump was president for four years. Please cite examples of this happening.
Trump had people around him who resisted/refused to do shoot border crossers, protesters, prosecute his political enemies, disrupt investigations. They were fired. He has stated that he will appoint people more loyal to him. And now the SCOTUS has ruled the president is above the law.
Hegseth for one, has written in his book that shooting may be necessary. He pushed for the pardon of war criminals.
