Nurses General Nursing

Published

Okay, I've never been on here before.

This is just a question.

I want to be a nurse because of the pay.

I need to support a family and the pay in Arkansas for certain types of nurses sounds amazing.

But is there a nursing job that's very easy but pays alot here in arkansas?

I don't want to be on call and I'm not sure about working on weekends & holidays.

So what do you guys think?

There is no such thing as a nursing job that is "very easy."

I don't believe this is a serious question, but there it is.

I mostly went into nursing for the money. But I also knew from a young age that the medical field in general was for me and wanted a job that would help people. I also knew going into nursing would involve working weekends and holidays. I also wasn't silly enough to think any new grad position would be easy. Nursing isn't for you.

Ok, this time I promise to totally stick to the topic of the OP, "What do I think".

I think that if this WERE to be a serious question by someone who is not pulling our collective legs, we could reasonably respond that the OP's view of nursing is most likely limited to TV sitcoms and not based anywhere remotely near reality. I think she has just as much a chance of being successful in her goals if she were to apply her plan to diamond mining in Africa instead of nursing. But virtual diamond mining, of course, since she'd otherwise have to leave Arkansas to do it.

I think that if the OP could manage to get into a nursing program, find a job that pays "a lot of money" without any experience to someone who also has zero interest in nursing..... requires no weekends, no holidays, no on-call, and is just a really fabulously amazing exciting (but very easy) job, why.....she ought to write a book about her experiences. It'd be a fascinating read.

Nurses who work in doctors' offices work the hours you desire. The nurse who works at my clinic is a new grad LPN. However, I doubt the job is "easy."

The OP also requires that it pay "a lot" to support her family, and also be an "amazing" specialty.

Oh boy, where to begin.

There is nothing wrong with going into nursing primarily for the money. It can be pretty decent pay for the time and money invested in school. But...

there is no such thing as an easy nursing job that pays a lot of money. There really is no such thing as an easy nursing job at all.

There are plenty of jobs that wouldn't require being on call. There are very, very few jobs in nursing that start off with above average pay that do not require weekends and holidays. Reality is health care is a 24/7 365 days a year field. People don't stop becoming ill or injured just because it's a weekend or a holiday.

I'm not saying don't be a nurse, I am saying research this fully to see what likely job prospects there are in your area since you sound unwilling/unable to move. I'm pretty sure you'd have a really hard time finding any that fit your criteria.

Another ridiculous thread, started two days ago by an OP who hasn't made another appearance.

At least it's free entertainment.
