Never....NEVER...cut a potato in half and use it as a pessary!
Anybody got anything to add?
My mom took me to the ER and they had me drink charcole. It was nasty. I was also pretty high. I felt like I had a halo on and I was seeing golfclubs in the sky.
I'm sorry for your ordeal. But I bet ya learned your lesson that day. Never OD on meds especially one that has alcohol in it! LOL! I remember growing up I was taught not to use other people's meds because they told us that if we did that then we would die. From then on, I've never tried meds that didn't belong to me. and thankfully, I never tried to OD when I was younger. But at that age you did not know any better. what's the purpose charcole? Was it to de-toxicate you?

I am not certian because i am not a nurse but I think that it absorbes some of the toxins and prevents them getting into your system
wow. it seems like you been through a lot. I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you have gotten better. so now that the non-cancerous tumors have been removed, does that stop it from re-growing?
I am better in that the pain is gone. No the tumors can come back because they can not remove all of it, esspecially because it goes up into 25% of my brain. I also have a few other tumors that have never been touched because they have never caused me any problems.
This is not however to say that I am not healthy. I am, generally, very healthy. Go to see my primary doc not all that often. Only been to the ER 3 times in my life (the cough syrup, after a surgery cuz I was lathargic ended up being a UTI, and then a few weeks ago). So in general i am healthy. I just see more docs then most people my age.
Only worked in the ER a couple of years and have learned plenty:
Just sitting there minding your own business is one of the most dangerous activities you can do.
Just because a certain organization bought you a bus ticket to PHX and supplied you with 2 bottles of vodka to get there(per your request) doesn't mean you'll get there.
Mud-Butt has nothing to do with mud.
... shoot I'm sure there are more, but I'm failing to remember at this point!
If snorting cocaine makes you paranoid, it's probably best to lock up your dogs in the garage before you indulge. Otherwise, if they start barking, you are likely to think it's the police coming to arrest you and rapidly consume your entire stash. Your heart probably won't like that, and after you end up in the ICU, the nursing staff will start calling you "Casey Jones".
Also, if you are diabetic, (heck, even if you're not!) it's not a good idea to drink 14 liters of regular Sprite in one evening. Same patient, same night as above incident. His blood glucose was over 1000.
I'm glad to hear that you r pain free and I'm sorry to hear that the tumors will come back. I just hope that don't hurt you in any way.
I see it as, I take it one day at a time. Usually I am completely fine and normal, but those days I am not, I realize they are only temporary and will pass with time.

You have a great attitude it sounds like. I have a chronic illness so completely understand the good and bad days. Thankfully there have been way more good days.
When I start my own pity party, I will think of you and hopefully have the strength of character like you and nip it in the bud.
I do hope you have more good than bad days, too!

I have a genetic disorder (neurofibromatosis) that causes non-cancerous tumors to grow around nerves. There is one in the right orbital area. My eye became very painful Dec 06. We were planing this for asthetic reasons in May but when it became painful (to the point I sometimes was having trouble functioning) my doc said we were not going to wait. That I was having it out 2 weeks later, o and by the way he could do it, so one of his coworkers (who I had never met) would have to do it.
By the way, I perfered his coworker and have now moved my care to her. also because he is older (graduated from college in 1955)
