Things you would love to say to your fellow nursing students!

Published

Along the lines of the first thread, "Things you would love to say to your nursing instructors" I thought this would be a great thread to start. I've since graduated LVN but there was one main thing I wanted to say to some students in my class.

Will you people in the back row please stop talking! I swear that today I can still hear their motormouths running! :chuckle

When I am in the RN bridge I will come back and post some more. I'm sure some of you have something to get off your chest. Come on and unload here! :)

...I would love to say to my teachers and classmates:

You are amazing!

Being down to business and interested.

I can see you caring about what we are doing.

I'm not sure why, but I really lucked out here. :)

1. To all you already medically trained individuals in my class...when I ask the professor a question, I am not asking YOU a question. I know you know everything and get all A's on your exams and blady-blady-blahhhh BUT I am paying the professor to teach me NOT you!

2. To 1 in particular 39 year old EMT mom in my class; we know you are older than us, we know you have more life experience, we know you have children, we know you have a bachelor's degree already, and we know you're an EMT. HOWEVER, stop preaching to us about being immature when you are the one complaining about professors and them being too hard and the workload. And for gosh sake, if you want to be a nurse you need to have a little more compassion...this fellow classmate says that diabetes is 100% preventable and she has no sympathy for those with it and sees no point in teaching patients about it because "they're not gonna listen." Phew, had to vent sorry.

3. Yea it's hard, but the things in life that are hard are usually worth it; so be quiet, manage your time wisely, and get your work done.

:)

Oh i thank the lord that i never have to see you guys again and i pray to any/all deities that i never end up working with or treating you guys as i cannot stand you! I have spent three years listening to you chat through class, text through important lectures, turn up late, eat loudly with your mouth open through lectures and *****,whinge, moan and whine about every petty thing in your life. you flaunted the rules with your fake finger nails (nice infection risk), refused to pull your weight with the group assignments and were generally fake people.

Not to mention i have gotten so sick of seeing your bottom, either get bigger trousers or bigger knickers please, oh and a longer t shirt as well as every time you raised your hand (which was every 5 minutes in lectures your shirt would end up around the bottom of your bra)

and you guys wondered why i didnt want to 'friend you' on facebook?

To all the moms that was in my pediatric class....

I did not appreciate the fact that you had a "story" or new somebody who knew somebody who knew somebody with the same child hood disease. Taking 30 minutes out of lecture to share your stories was very aggravating. Thanks.

To the girl who sits infront of me:

Please stop taking my answers and saying them 1 second after I do at a louder tone so you can take credit.

Stop competing with me in EVERYTHING. Get some confidence.

To the girl who sits infront of her:

Get a life. Get your nose out of the instructors rear-ends. You will not be working with the instructors, but you will probably be working with some of US one day. Enjoy you're payback for being a snotty stuck up twerp for 2 years...

To my (certain) instructors:

You do NOT own me.

I hate it when instructors say they own you for the next however many years. That was so yesterday! Come into the 21st century please! We are all adults. Nursing school isn't what it used to be with 18 year olds who just graduated from high school. Things are different today and I wish nursing instructors would keep up instead of getting nostalgic for their good old days that we were never a part of.

A thread for women to talk about other people behind their back. Who would have though this thread would be so popular? This thread reminds me of my classmates though. "Let's talk about so-and-so and cause drama bla bla."

No, let's not. However, I say it to their face. :o

It's not just women on this thread. It's a vent thread. How is it causing drama for people to come here and vent instead of confronting their classmates for stuff they find annoying. It's not that the classmate is breaking rules and doing wrong, people get annoyed over various things.

Like how you just vented about this thread.

I was referring to people talking behind others backs in my classroom causing drama. This thread related to it only in the way that it's talking about someone else.

I do find both annoying though.

Hmmmm ok, you started your post by saying "A thread for women to talk about other people behind their back" Then went on to compare it to the women in your class.

That would obviously lead one to believe you are putting down the people in this thread.

I mean you do realize you are talking down about people coming on this thread to vent, all while, coming on this thread and venting???

I am putting down people in this thread. Not for causing drama, but for being catty. I don't consider what I'm saying venting as I am saying it your "face." If I were to make another topic saying I hate when people make threads about venting then I could see your point.

I think that instead of venting it's better to just not let things bother you. "You're bothered that people let other people bother them" will be your next response. No, I just think it's a waste of energy.

Threads are suppose to be a about free thought. Even if it is the thought that the topic is juvenile. I don't really want to do this whole back and forth with you, so say what you have to say.

I just find what you are saying is a contraindication to well, what you're saying.

You are wasting energy on this thread and reading it and responding to it. People come. Here to vent their frustrations with others that understand.

I just always find it odd when people come into a vent thread and "vent" to people for venting. Talk about how catty or juvenile they are, while doing essentially the same thing in a different manner. The Internet is not saying something to someones "face". You're hiding behind the anonymity of the computer. In fact, some could argue it's even more or a waste of energy to get bothered by what someone posts on a message board rather than what someone has to deal with in real life.

Thanks for allowing me to say what I "have" to say. You don't have to go back and forth with me. You can chose not to reply.
