What kind of car do you drive for those 1+ hour commutes?
I have a toyota highlander hybrid.. I love it. It's super safe, has the 4wdi.. and it looks great! It's roomy since we have 2 kiddos and take a lot of trips. I get about 27mpg in town and 22 on the road.

LaCharity prioritization/delegation/assignment book DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!
This book is awesome. It definitely helped with all the priority questions I had on nclex! The questions are worded so similar as are the answer options! Same level of difficulty on the nclex!

Any June NCLEX Test Takers Out There?
I did it! I passed! I took it at 8am yesterday. I did 75 questions. I had about 10 SATA, 6-8 meds, 1 math and the rest were teaching/priority/infection control! I got the good pop up about 2 hours later and my name was on the BON at 4pm!!!! I didn't even have to pay for quick results!!!!

Dating and nursing school: Is it best to date another student?
There was a couple in my class. They broke up 2nd semester and it was pretty awkward! Then there was the married guy that tried to nail every 20 year old in the class... nasty. Oh..and then there was the handsome 30-something guy that slept with a clinical instructor!!!!!! TRUE! Now, THAT was uncomfortable for everyone that knew! and I don't know if it's totally related, but none of these people graduated on time. All of them failed at least one semester. I would stear clear of anything that could make nursing school any harder!

Thank you note to CNO/HR manager/Unit director
Hello! I really need some advice and help with wording a thank you note to the leaders of the hospital I have worked at as a CNA. I graduate NS in May and the CNO, HR director, and Med/Surg unit director all encouraged me to shadow the experienced nurses. I did this for six 8 hour days. I learned a ton, everyone was so kind to me.. and I really really appreciated the opprotunity. No job has been offerred officially even tho they have talked with me about working as a nurse..but I wanted to thank them and maybe remind them that I will soon be an RN (take nclex in 4 days!!) so far I have for the CNO (it's a small hospital and she has a strong hand in the hirings): "Thank you for the opprotunity to shadow the experienced nurses on Med/Surg. I am very eager to work as a RN and look forward to talking with you more about establishing my position with ____ Hospital." To me, it doesn't sound right... Do I also write a separate note to the unit director? Is this a good idea to even send a note?? Any suggestions?

Blood transfusions??? just say no...
I have had this dilema. I had prayed and asked for opinions..but I had no idea how I would react until I was in the position to give blood while in school. Once I was faced with it, I did it and it didn't bother me. My view is that the patient is informed, and I am not receiving the blood myself. I think it's the same as giving any medication.

Current graduate nurse pay in Knoxville, TN
I talked to a nurse recruiter in Johnson City for MSHA.. I believe the starting pay is $18/hr. I don't know if there is a difference for BSN. Did you post in the Tennesee forum?? Good luck!
