Things you would love to say to your fellow nursing students!

Published

Along the lines of the first thread, "Things you would love to say to your nursing instructors" I thought this would be a great thread to start. I've since graduated LVN but there was one main thing I wanted to say to some students in my class.

Will you people in the back row please stop talking! I swear that today I can still hear their motormouths running! :chuckle

When I am in the RN bridge I will come back and post some more. I'm sure some of you have something to get off your chest. Come on and unload here! :)

Please stop saying you "almost decided to quit last night/week/weekend" etc. We are six weeks in. You worked hard to get here. Nobody goes to the Olympics, sees how difficult it will be to place Gold and just quits and neither should you now! You can do this, I can do this. It is okay to be overwhelmed. Not okay to let failure creep into your mind and especially not okay to quit before you have even gotten off the ground. Hugs and hand smacks all around. Let's go!

****! The teacher is trying to review for our test...she is basically HANDING US the test on a silver platter and you want to debate some miniscule point with her and take up class time!! She says "focus on this and that...don't worry about the other" and you say "but the book says....." JUST SHUT-UP!!!! Are you a complete idiot?? Do you have ANY common sense?

Whewww....that does feel better...I was imagining saying it right to their faces!! :nurse:

I hope you are never....ever....ever my nurse out in the real world.

Who did your microbiology and A&P homework for you? Clearly it wasn't your doing.

Oh, and if you are unable to read and interpret instructions independently, you should not be a nursing student, much less a nurse.

Yes, you have to go in hte pt's room and talk to them.

We a girl in my calss that everyone knew, because she was so loud and she had to answer every question. SHUT UP!!!:uhoh3:

We had one guy that did not know that he would have to give a bath, he dropped... But come on, don't take a spot that could have been given to someone who who wants to be a nurse.

we all know you have a master's degree in who gives a damn, trust me, as much as you broadcast it we couldnt help but hear it :uhoh3:, but you just like the rest of us, have to do personal care on your patients, please stop trying to delegate it to the aides or even to the rest of us when you are not busy, you jus think that you are too good to do it. When the instructor goes into your patient's room and sees mr/ms _________ sitting in thier own waste she is going to tear you a new one, and Im sure she wont care about your previous degrees!!!

Please stop trying to turn everyone against the nicest instructor we have ever had just because you didnt do so well on the test. I overheard you talking about how you went out clubbing the night before the test and didnt get any sleep or get to study. Its your fault, not the instructors so please shut up, sit down, and reorganize your priorities! Nursing school is hard, and you knew you were going to have to give up some of that social life when you signed up!!!

Just because it is a summer class does not mean that you can wear shorts that look like underwear and a bra top, when you bent down and picked up your pen off the ground I turned and saw more of you up close and personal, than I ever wanted to see :crying2: I didnt know whether to pretend I didnt see it, or start throwing dollars at you :twocents::confused:..........flashback to the strip club...................

Did someone drag you into registration against your will? No? Then stop acting like you're being tortured, you signed up for this!

This is a HUGE one on my list. I mean seriously, it's like people act like they are FORCED to be there and can't stand it. Dude, if you can't stand it this much, DROP OUT and give your place to someone that will be ok.

I can not believe I just said Dude!

Stop complaining about the class being cold. It's February! We started in November, it was cold then, too! Bring a sweater and shut up!

You never stop talking. You're extremely distracting and I don't care to hear about "how drunk you're going to get this weekend" in the middle of lecture. Okay? So stop!

Stop acting like you know everything! If you already know everything, then why are you here? Stop making me feel stupid because I put a different answer on a test. You go on and on about why your answer is right and makes the most sense and completely tune out the reasoning behind other answers. I do laugh a little inside when I find out the answer you were so adamantly sure was right, was in fact, wrong. It proves that you don't know EVERYTHING.

Why do you wipe down your chair, desk, books, doorknobs, people, markers... absolutely EVERYTHING with Lysol wipes? I don't understand. How do you function in clinical? You can't go around wiping down everything and everyone with Lysol wipes there, so how do you survive?

Don't just sit there when your phone rings, and rings, and rings some more. ANSWER IT or turn it off. We all know whose phone it is, and sitting there all nonchalant like a statue isn't fooling anyone.

I promise that you will survive if you get on the elevator. I know how you think it's an incubator, but I'm sure that if you just try it, that you will come out alive.

Stop being such a downer- attitude can be catchy and I sure as heck don't want to catch yours!

Thank you for nominating me and then for voting me in. I didn't see that one coming and it has left me quite speechless. Just...thank you.
