Things you would love to say to your fellow nursing students!

Published

Along the lines of the first thread, "Things you would love to say to your nursing instructors" I thought this would be a great thread to start. I've since graduated LVN but there was one main thing I wanted to say to some students in my class.

Will you people in the back row please stop talking! I swear that today I can still hear their motormouths running! :chuckle

When I am in the RN bridge I will come back and post some more. I'm sure some of you have something to get off your chest. Come on and unload here! :)

To the next person who spends our group work time complaining about how stupid the assignment is: I'm going to smack you.

There is such a thing as a stupid question. Thanks for the laugh, though. That was the funniest thing I've heard in a long time.

Yes, you really do have to work up the pathophys for your patient PRIOR to patient care! And you're going to have to write a care plan, too! Oh, and when the instructor asks you about the meds you're going to give, she actually expects you to have intelligent answers.

Do not be rude to me because I quietly asked my neighbor for clarification on something when you sit on your IPOD the entire lecture goofing off online and playing games. Seriously, I am distracting you for the 30 seconds?

How are you supposed to remember how to do all these different things for a head to toe assessment? THE SAME WAY EVERYONE ELSE IN MY CLASSES DID! AND PASSED! Oh, wait, I did say that to my student ........

We can all see you roll your eyes when someone you dislike talks. Don't you know you're not being discreet? It's rude! You are an adult so cut it out. You can't do that at work so don't do it at school either!

Next time you laugh at someone for studying their tail off, you might wait until after the scores come in to see if you even passed.

STOOOOOOOOP talking. PLEAAAAAAASSSE!

Ok, I'll throw in a few positive ones, they're rare, I know lol!

1. Thank you so much for telling me I look pretty even though I was covered in snow and spent the weekend crying.

2. Thank you for always bringing in candy, it is very cute and appreciated.

3. Thank you for being a guy and going into nursing despite the stigma.

4. I was so amazed that our (at least I thought) mediocre and mandatory group project was enough to bring tears to your eyes because someone you know is showing signs of being suicidal. The difference that bit of knowledge makes makes all the pettiness and frustration of this assignment worth it.

5. It is so great that you're rich, dont even need to work, but want to become nurse.

Taadaa! Now I have to come up with some negative things to say lol.

This isn't really positive or negative...

I'm glad our instructor teamed us up to work on this project together. I know you're a good student and we get along. However, I cannot work on this at 10 o'clock at night because I'm a morning person and I will fall asleep on you! I'm sorry, but we'll just have to do this earlier in the day.

I'm so glad group projects only come along in a rare while, I had no idea we'd have such scheduling issues......and a foot of snow lol.

Sometimes when you argue a test question we agree to a point. But the more you argue the more we can all see your lack of basic understanding of the concept. Don't do it in class. Make an appointment and discuss it with the teachers one on one, you're wasting everyone elses time! By the way, you are the reason there were no longer any questions allowed in test review of any kind or even rationales to the test questions given. So then the rest of us didn't know why our answers were wrong, and it was really hard to learn. Thanks.

Please quit doubting whether you're 'smart enough' to be in the program. You obviously were smart enough to get accepted into the Fast track program. Getting consistent B +s on exams does not make you a bad nurse.

That said (this directed at others), Fast Track is NOT the 'top ten' of our program. They are the top ten of those who applied specifically for fast track, had all liberals finished, and are willing to take summer courses. I know people with higher GPAs than you and are not in Fast Track.
