Along the lines of the first thread, "Things you would love to say to your nursing instructors" I thought this would be a great thread to start. I've since graduated LVN but there was one main thing I wanted to say to some students in my class.
Will you people in the back row please stop talking! I swear that today I can still hear their motormouths running! :chuckle
When I am in the RN bridge I will come back and post some more. I'm sure some of you have something to get off your chest. Come on and unload here! :)
Being in an online BSN completion program:
To several of my classmates: THANK you for all the constructive feedback on my (and others') papers. This was truly unexpected and very much appreciated. I thought we would all post our papers and that would be it; instead I get thoughtful, in depth analysis and comments. Thank you for helping create such a great learning environment, where the students are teachers, too!
No, it is NOT hilarious that you've come to clinical on hydrocodone.OMG! That happened????
We had a girl who had a legit. 'script for it, due to leg pain r/t a growth in her knee. She later had surgery for it. She was honest and said that she'd taken some before driving an hour to clinical, but didn't think she should be passing meds that day--the first day we were every to pass meds (this was last summer, BTW). That teacher wanted to give her the boot right then and there, but couldn't. Somehow, this chick is managing to graduate with honors with me next week! I seriously don't understand how.
Recreational "hilarious"? NOT, that would have been kicked out ASAP. I hope you told your teacher.

I had a _Professor_ (not nursing) teach class for a few weeks on serious painkillers. I don't think he had any clue about how much of a mess he was. He'd write on the chalk board, full of typos (then try to correct them). Sometimes he'd slur his speech, and couldn't stay focused. I really liked him as a professor otherwise. When he was asked why he came in that way, sadly, it was because as a professor, he can't really take "off" of work. There are no substitutes or make-up days. But, his pain, perhaps like the original subject, was unbearable (and included surgery).
Don't ask me how I did or what I made on every test, quiz, evaluation, etc. It's none of your business! Why do you insist on making everything a comparison, it just breeds competition and extra unncessary stress. Ugh!
thank you...thank you ...thank you....this is my biggest pet peave...."what does what I got on the test have to do with you"
"Didn't you learn how to add fractions and decimals when you were in MIDDLE SCHOOL???????"
"Not all of us have medical working background, so please talk in LAYMAN'S TERMS, at least for the FIRST WEEK OF SCHOOL!!!!!" No one understands what you are saying and you come off as a egotistical know it all.
"Quit whining about how "hard" nursing school is! There are over 200 people who applied and didn't get in who would KILL to take your place, and NOT COMPLAIN!!!"

This is too funny,I have a girl in my class who is a CNA and she always have to make a lot of comments during the lecture. The funny thing about this is that while she tries so hard to look smart ,she barely passes the class.
I guess what I would like to say to her is "shut up and study more"
