3 things I'll ignore on TV

Published

1) Living room interviews, especially the ones with poor audio and video quality, which is most of them.

2) Covid themed commercials. "We're here for you in these challenging times. (No, you are trying to make a buck, that is why you are advertising)

3) A field reporter all by him or herself, wearing a mask. Substitute anyone out doors, all by themselves, wearing a mask, and I'm out. I was driving by a flagman the other day, all by himself out there on the road, wearing a mask (yes, I know he was being forced to). That is stupid. Kind of like the idiots alone in their cars, wearing masks, before they even get out of it to go to the supermarket.

Seriously? Why do you need a mask when you are alone in your car? That kind of mindless 'compliance' rubs me the wrong way.

I'm just here for the comments...

I am unhappy since Yahoo removed the comments from its online articles. I often found the comments to be more informative and entertaining than the original article. Didn't even need to make the popcorn to be amused.

Because, Emergent, you shouldn't take it off, since you don't want to touch your face with the soiled gloves you're wearing as you drive.

Gave me a good chuckle Davey!

If I were to wear gloves into a grocery store (which I wouldn't) . . . I'd use antibacterial foam that I keep in my car. I do that anyway when I leave my car to go to the store and when I get back to my car. Also, at the entrance to the store when I wipe off the grocery cart handle.

earlier in lawn mowing season, I was out mowing. I live in the county, next neighbor (in laws) live 1.5 miles down the road. I wasn't wearing a mask. Why would I? A lady in a minivan slows down in front of my house as I'm mowing and I can see her mouth moving and hands gesturing. I pull my mower closer to the road, only to hear her yelling that I needed to get an f'ing mask on, I was being a horrible human, blah blah blah...I just went back to mowing and left her yelling at me. Eventually she got it, because I saw her drive off, still shaking her fist at me

what I really love is these little tools you can put on your key chain so you don't have to touch things liek door knobs, elevator buttons etc... A friend wanted to give me one as a gift and I said it wasn't worth the risk. when asked for an explanation I said "You use the clean thing to touch the dirty thing so now the clean thing is dirty as well. Now you put the newley dirty thing in your pocket!"

I'm with Davey Do...I put my mask on when I go out and I leave it on until I'm done.  Then it goes into the bag, I use sanitizer on my hands and fave and anything that I think that I may have touched. When I get home the mask goes into the washer.

We need to get used to this. Most people won't have real access to a vaccine for at least 12 months.
