I would LOVE for them to surprise visit my hospital, specially since we got a really great score. The staffing was so optimaql for those 3 days (and then it was back to usual..."we don't have ANY staff....)

They were warning us last year that they could pull a surprise Chinese firedrill anytime they wanted to!

Just another indication to me that JACHO has gotten WAY, WAY out of hand!!

Isn't it funny that during inspections there is always PLENTY of staff....I guess they all disappear into thin air afterwards, because we hear the same thing-"There just isn't anybody to send!"

And isn't it sickening that they always "pick" the people who clam up when agencies like these are around???

Wish they'd stop by some night when I'm at work. Hmmm...maybe I'll fax them my schedule for the next few months, see if they REALLY want to know what goes on in that place!

The real kicker is this complaint was made by a very vindictive staff nurse who is out to get top management because they burnt her when in actuality, she burnt herself.

:rotfl: I was always the one who BEGGED to work dayshift when I knew JACHO was coming around, but my HN did NOT want them to have access to me.....ohhhhhh noooooo.... :nono: :rotfl: She knew I would tell them anything and everything they wanted to know......and then some. :rotfl:

ahh......JACHO....they did do a pop in visit at my facility a few months ago.......something to do with our lab.........on my days off.....whew....!! on last big thingy with them, got collared into showing one of their clowns how we check out blood and hang it....so i politely intrduced this guy to the patient as......one of those government officals.......and was corrected by the jacho guy......"WE ARE NOT GOVERNMENT" my , my...when it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck..........same guy asked our icu director ( not the intubated, dting,out of it patients doc) "and what are you doing to provide this patients" nonreligious, spirirual needs? " If i ever figure out what this means i intend to write a book.......

When JACHO arrives it is amazing how hospitals run the way they should run. I wish they would come un announced on a regular basis and we probaly wouldn't have as many issues that hospitals dish out to their employees.

They are coming to our place on Weds. and Thursday THIS week!!

Worked for someone else today, so have Weds off, its always such a pain having the equipment hidden and med room practically locked up and all the Suits running around! I think we are in pretty good shape, have kept up fairly well with doing stuf the "right way" in the last few years.
