The Trump Thread

Published

I confess to back pedaling into Trump territory when I wanted to leave discussions about him in the garbage can.  My thread on the read-only break room site has 9,600 replies so I thought I'd bring up a new one.

He's not going away.

Haberman's book is out based on interviews.  I won't read it, but the excerpts are interesting.  Especially what he says about McConnell, a description that's against the Terms of Service here, but I actually don't disagree with.  LOL

Quote

“At one point, Trump made a candid admission that was as jarring as it was ultimately unsurprising. ‘The question I get asked more than any other question: “If you had it to do again, would you have done it?”’Trump said of running for president. ‘The answer is, yeah, I think so. Because here’s the way I look at it. I have so many rich friends and nobody knows who they are.’ … Reflecting on the meaning of having been president of the United States, his first impulse was not to mention public service, or what he felt he’d accomplished, only that it appeared to be a vehicle for fame, and that many experiences were only worth having if someone else envied them.”

It wasn't proposed, Bibi did that. He claimed that Hamas was hiding in tunnels where the ill and injured, and children were concentrated. He prevented humanitarian aid from entering the area and let children starve.

Did Fox not report on that?

I misunderstood you were speaking of.

I missed the part where killing 46000 people and leveling schools, homes, and hospitals was proposed.

Right? And didn't these "46000" people die while Biden was in power? Oh and these stats change daily are are provided by Gaza "health authority" that is high jacked by Hamas, actual terrorist criminals?

Crazy rhetoric is the normal in Trumplandia, I can't imagine that a little more Crazy talk on media platforms that you don't frequent will be too bothersome for you.  Maybe you prefer Crazy talk about eating pets and giant water faucets and making Canada a state?

Hitler comparisons are expected when discussing fascists and fascism.  That seems obvious.

That part is already done.  LOL

That part was done under Biden. You know, how you like to compare everything so us "conservatives " can be enlightened by you? Considering you feel like to bring Trump up in every post, I thought I would bring up Biden.

Fox probably didn't report on it in quite that way.  LOL

Joy Reid went on a 2 to 3 minute rant comparing Trump to Hitler.  So, I can only imagine what kind of "ethnic cleansing ' talk is going on elsewhere.

The crazy rhetoric won't be going away anytime soon.

As I said "buckle up buttercup".   I had to Google who Joy Reid is.  Never have seen her show as I don't watch MSNBC.  I see Trump's Border Tsar called her "dumber than a box of rocks".  Apparently she is good at triggering folks.

Ethic cleansing aside what is your opinion on the United States taking on responsibility for Gaza and asking them to leave?

I think it's a new bold, or crazy if you prefer, idea.  It doesn't seem there have been very many ideas or solutions that have been forwarded.   Of course, we'd need more details to really analyze it.  To develop Gaza into Trump's vision woukd take decades.

I'm definitely not in favor of using military action to do it.  I don't think anyone is so don't think that come to happen.

The bottom line is it's something he threw out there.  The sky is falling , again.  And next week it'll probably be old news that we'll probably never hear of again.

Thanks for the question.  It's refreshing when someone wants to hear an opinion rather than just throw out barbs and snarky comments.

Yeah. I don't know if she's good at triggering folks or if some folks are just easily triggered.  I hope you get an answer to your question.

Yes. Bibi did that during the Biden administration.

Are you arguing that Bibi didn't bomb and kill those Palestinian civilians, hospitals and schools or are you just quibbling about the numbers hoping to create doubt?

Now Trump wants to take control of their land and move those terrorized people out permanently.  How do you feel about that ethnic cleansing?

I believe many civilians were killed. I do not believe "statistics " provided by a know terrorist organization. Especially when they strategically set up their military points at hospitals and schools.

I think ethnic cleansing is disgusting.  Even the actual words from Hamas terrorist openly call  to kill every single Jew from the river to the see. You may call that freedom fighting. I call that reprehensible terrorism. Real fascist. Word on the street is they like Hitler. (I do not think that means Trump).

That claim was actually true at least to some extent in that it has been a known tactic to place military operations in residential areas, hospitals and schools in order to force civilian casualties when attacked. It is reprehensible that Hamas would do that.

That said, it still is ridiculous for Trump to suggest that we just go in and take Gaza for himself to create some kind of vacation resort or whatever. That completely disregards the Palestinians, they can't be taken out of the equation. No matter what one thinks about how Israel and Palestine should come to a resolution the United States taking Gaza is the height of arrogance.

Correct.  Right-wing extremism is almost always associated with cruelty and disregard for human life.  In the Hamas/Israel conflict it is right-wing extremism versus right-wing extremism. It's has been brutal and cruel.   It's criminal what they are doing to the people of Palestine.  Now we've thrown another right-wing extremist bully into the mix.  What could possibly go wrong?  You know, besides taking over and occupying Gaza?

Is there anything in Trump's plan that says he wants to displace Palestinians to build hotels or whatever?

I'm really not familiar with this topic yet. It will take time to filter through the propaganda.
