I confess to back pedaling into Trump territory when I wanted to leave discussions about him in the garbage can. My thread on the read-only break room site has 9,600 replies so I thought I'd bring up a new one.
He's not going away.
Haberman's book is out based on interviews. I won't read it, but the excerpts are interesting. Especially what he says about McConnell, a description that's against the Terms of Service here, but I actually don't disagree with. LOL
Quote“At one point, Trump made a candid admission that was as jarring as it was ultimately unsurprising. ‘The question I get asked more than any other question: “If you had it to do again, would you have done it?”’Trump said of running for president. ‘The answer is, yeah, I think so. Because here’s the way I look at it. I have so many rich friends and nobody knows who they are.’ … Reflecting on the meaning of having been president of the United States, his first impulse was not to mention public service, or what he felt he’d accomplished, only that it appeared to be a vehicle for fame, and that many experiences were only worth having if someone else envied them.”

Independent Review Panel Report of the July 13, 2024 Assassination Attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania
QuoteIn more detail, the Panel addresses the following remediations toward the specific failures and breakdowns it has identified:
(1) a requirement that the Secret Service follow a physically integrated communications setup at all large events going forward, with the integration of a real- time incident command management system;
(2) a new policy requiring a face-to-face situation report from the lead site agent to the leadership of the protectee's detail at the time of the protectee's arrival at a site;
(3) a mandate that all outdoor events are observed by overhead technology;9
(4) revisions to the site security planning process to require the identification of specific mitigations for all line-of-sight threats;
(5) significant training regarding risk-based threat identification, "Speaking Up,” and ownership values by senior-level personnel;
(6) policy revisions to clarify responsibility and chain of command for site security preparation and execution;
(7) numerous initiatives to better integrate state and local elements into the Secret Service's security process;
(8) changes to how details and field offices select agents to perform advance and day-of site work to ensure that agents' experience is commensurate with the security tasks they are being asked to undertake; and
(9) re-training on appropriate protectee extraction methods.

Communicationfailures and attention to detail seem to be big portions of the failure of Trump's SS planning.
I've only listened to about hall of the Rogan podcast. Here's a review and discussion.
I wonder if Trump is better at delivering a cogent thought when he's speaking to world leaders. It seems unlikely since neither dementia nor mental illness work that way.
QuoteIn the closing days of his third presidential run, Trump has become increasingly erratic with his public appearances and dire with his rhetoric. On Rogan's podcast, Trump repeated his view that there is an "enemy from within" that is worse for the country than foes like North Korea. Trump also previously floated using the military against domestic enemies.
"We have a bigger problem, in my opinion, with the enemy from within, and it drives them crazy when I use that term,” he said. "But we have an enemy from within. We have people that are really bad, people that I really think want to make this country unsuccessful.”

There were one or 2 times Biden did well with his noticeable decline even by his own party who replaced him with a non elected candidate.
If Trump declines further, Vance will be there.
Beerman said:And my stance has been dementia or normal aging is irrelevant. Either way, he is cognitively unfit for the job. And up until he dropped out you maintained he was fit for the job.
And what's funnier is that once he did drop out you tried to tell us it that the way it all transpired was all part of a brilliant plan by Biden.

Tell us, how brilliant does it look now?
Now, go ahead and deflect to Trump.
Yup. I wonder if the use of the word "retirement" could be considered "misinformation " and or propaganda?

As I mentioned before, Vance's short term in the Senate doesn't really establish him as a credible leader. Especially when he tells reckless and sensational lies about some of his constituents.

Why is it that it's not relevant to discuss Trump's clear cognitive decline? Here you are deflecting again to Biden, as if that somehow makes Trump's cognitive disability less alarming or disqualifying.
I don't recall making some definitive statement about Biden accomplishing a brilliant move against Trump, but that speculation must have left an impression for you to remind us how Trump really would prefer to be running against sleepy Joe.
This is the Trump thread, he is the topic, not the deflection silly.
