I confess to back pedaling into Trump territory when I wanted to leave discussions about him in the garbage can. My thread on the read-only break room site has 9,600 replies so I thought I'd bring up a new one.
He's not going away.
Haberman's book is out based on interviews. I won't read it, but the excerpts are interesting. Especially what he says about McConnell, a description that's against the Terms of Service here, but I actually don't disagree with. LOL
Quote“At one point, Trump made a candid admission that was as jarring as it was ultimately unsurprising. ‘The question I get asked more than any other question: “If you had it to do again, would you have done it?”’Trump said of running for president. ‘The answer is, yeah, I think so. Because here’s the way I look at it. I have so many rich friends and nobody knows who they are.’ … Reflecting on the meaning of having been president of the United States, his first impulse was not to mention public service, or what he felt he’d accomplished, only that it appeared to be a vehicle for fame, and that many experiences were only worth having if someone else envied them.”

Kinda reeks of desperation, doesn't it?
I do not accept your premise that Trump wanting generals like Hitler had is BS. We all saw Trump fire his staff, many of them former generals, for refusing to give him unwavering loyalty and refusing to break the law.
It does irk me that Woodward tends to sit on this sort of thing in order to sell books, but IMO, not desperation.
Reek is an interesting choice of term in a convo about a former president who reportedly has a flatulence problem.

It is pretty notable that the republican candidate who says he'll only be a dictator on day one also said that he wanted his generals to be like Hitler's generals. It's also notable that the candidate was unaware that Hitler's generals plotted to kill him. That candidate said that Hitler did some good things.
Yes. We lived through a Trump presidency where we observed that a handful of people were instrumental in holding the republics guardrails in place while Trump repeatedly rammed his power into them. Now we know that the republican party has developed a plan to overcome that type of patriotic obstruction in a future republican administration. P2025 is a blueprint for ending our republic.
I think the republican acceptance of that thinking to be more based in curated ignorance and indoctrination than desperation.

Dang. Musk's company is in charge of those battleground state ground games. Apparently, hiring people to knock on doors rather than having an enthusiastic volunteer network has a downside.

Sure, just another Hitler, isn't he?
Regardless, everyone's lived through a Trump presidency. If he really is Hitleresque, I imagine he'll lose badly.
The desperation is from the Democratic party, liberal media, and all that hate Trump. Recycling old narratives that not only didn't work, but also backfired.
I wasn't aware of the problem you mentioned. You follow his moves closer than me, I guess.

Trump "nazi generals" comment is an allegation written in a book someone is trying to sell.
Yes. We have lived through a Trump presidency and guess what? He didn't turn in to Hitler for a whole 4 years. Or any of the other desparaging names.
Trump says things like the dictator comment on purpose to troll democrats. And it works hilariously. Effective on showing the lack of rational thought and the desperate length that they will go to.
Seriously. Halloween is almost here and will be over soon. Wil you then quit with the scary P2025?
What will you say if he wins and none of that happens? LOL. Keep saying just like the Hiter warnings?

P2025....one of the desperate narratives I just mentioned.

Of course you don't accept it.
Trump built his fortune not settling for mediocre and weakness. Why would he want either in the military?
Oh gawd! Now we are going to talk about his farts? LOL
Yup. Voting forTrump is a vote for a farting Hitler.

It's a great promotion for his book about Churchill deciding to engage with Nazi Germany in 1940. It's interesting that the go to response is to try to discredit the retired 4 star General who was Trump's longest serving Chief of Staff. You don't take the word of a guy who spent his lifetime in service to this country, you defend the felon and fraud who is a pathological liar. You believe the guy who already tried to overthrow our elected government once before.
The guy you believe will sell you a piece of a suit that he says he was wearing when someone took a shot at him, books aren't really his thing.

That's why he's a billionair and you are not.
Who cares about Churchill and Nazis. This is 2024.
