I confess to back pedaling into Trump territory when I wanted to leave discussions about him in the garbage can. My thread on the read-only break room site has 9,600 replies so I thought I'd bring up a new one.
He's not going away.
Haberman's book is out based on interviews. I won't read it, but the excerpts are interesting. Especially what he says about McConnell, a description that's against the Terms of Service here, but I actually don't disagree with. LOL
Quote“At one point, Trump made a candid admission that was as jarring as it was ultimately unsurprising. ‘The question I get asked more than any other question: “If you had it to do again, would you have done it?”’Trump said of running for president. ‘The answer is, yeah, I think so. Because here’s the way I look at it. I have so many rich friends and nobody knows who they are.’ … Reflecting on the meaning of having been president of the United States, his first impulse was not to mention public service, or what he felt he’d accomplished, only that it appeared to be a vehicle for fame, and that many experiences were only worth having if someone else envied them.”

Is that what you thought I said? I saw a rambling old man who ranted lies, conspiracies and rally rhetoric during an important debate while his competent opponent spoke to the people and outlined policy objectives which prioritize their needs.
Do you think the media will largely ignore his incoherence to complain that her policy discussion wasn't specific enough?

The eating people's pets may not be true. The important thing to know is that there are 1000's new to the small city.
Hyperbole, lies, conspiracy theories and inability to discuss the events of 010621 or what the president's role might be when the transfer of power is threatened by a violent attack on the Capitol. Do you think Trump understands what his duty was on January 6th? I don't think he does. He sure didn't understand the president's role during a national public health emergency.
No matter Trump's incompetent dishonesty, the GOP voting base will make excuses for his crazy talk. He's their guy.

Most voters have already vetted and formed their opinion on Jan 6. It's irrelevant as far as thr election goes.

Policy objectives? Sure (if you choose to believe them).
How to accomplish them? Nothing.
It's amusing that you believe the media is on Team Trump.

LOL
She talked policy objectives while he ranted and rambled about crazy social media nonsense and his typical tired rally nonsense. Her thoughtful and coherent debate responses just didn't include enough detail to offset Trump's crazy talk. She outlined plans while making it obvious that Trump has concepts of plans. I guess if people need to choose to believe one or the other it makes sense to believe the one who can speak in complete sentences and deliver a clear message without rambling through several topics and crazy conspiracy theories before making a generalized claim with zero substance to back it up.
I didn't say the media is on the side of team Trump. I asked if the press would again be more critical of Trump's opponent than they are of him in terms of debate performance. I'm suggesting that they are trying to balance Trump's very many disqualifying character flaws and behaviors by focusing upon his opponents. They think it's how to be good journalists.
Trump calls the press the enemy of the people, just like other fascists have. The wealthy capitalists who own our few media outlets may believe that they can control the crazy authoritarian if he's reelected. That could be why they are hesitant to be honest about what he represents. That would be naive.

An attempt to overthrow our government is not irrelevant to patriots, it's only irrelevant to Trump supporters.
It should matter to most people that Trump has no idea what his official duties required when his mob attacked the Capitol on 010621. Even after being president Trump has no idea what the role of the president includes.
It's crazy that people will vote for such a terrible person and candidate because of partisan animus and party loyalty.

Pathological lying is evidence of his mental illness.
What did he lie about? What makes a person who tells allot of lies a liar and a pathological liar to determine a diagnosis of "pathological liar".
What symptoms of "Frontal lobe dementia " did you see?
Be behavior specific.

You didn't watch the debate, eh?
A pathological liar is a persistent, habitual liar who doesn't require a motive to speak falsehoods and fabrications. It's not a medical diagnosis. It's quite often a symptom of an underlying personality disorder. Why didn't you look that up?
I wonder why you don't look at one of the very many articles which are examining the quality of the things uttered by the candidates during the debate rather than asking mmeto do your research for you. My guess is that you just want me to waste my time so that you can argue about whether the liar was lying about after birth abortion or lying about pet eating immigrants. I'm not going to play that game with you. You believe a good many Trump lies already so there's no purpose or point to that exercise
I already offered you information about that dementia, go back and find it.
I don't take orders from other members regarding what my comments include. That was a rude demand. You should chill out a bit.

It wasn't intended as a order. I was trying to use an opportunity to discuss the behaviors of Trump at the debate last night that you feel is evidence of mental illness. Perhaps I am bias and can't see it?
If you took my post as rude, it wasn't intended. The way in which you format your content can be considered impolite at least so I'm taken back that you considered this rude?
If you do not wish to discuss this it's fine.
However it would make your speculation more credible if you did.
You were quit specific about frontal lobe dementia. I thought you might point out the symptoms in the debate.
