The Mockery of Nursing

Published

Just a bit ago the top three threads involved:

1.I have a DWI. Can I be a nurse?

2.I am stupid. Can I be a nurse?

3.If it takes me five times to pass NCLEX, Can I be nurse.

Not much left to add. Says it all.

Thank you!

You're welcome. What I find interesting is that this poster stated in a different thread that they graduated in 2009 from a 4 year program but is now stating (as of 2/17/12) that they are a new grad with two jobs.... Wonder how many times they took the NCLEX?

Probably took that long to find a job. Lots of people back from last part of '08 to current, still looking for FT employment. People should read those posts alone and know not to go to school for nursing. But you know, it's the DREEEAAAAMMMM, and the fact that they know they are smarter than everybody else and will be handed a job before graduation

I guess my fellow new grads and I truly are blessed then! Over 80% of my graduating class had job offers before graduation. I didn't realize how tough it was out there.... Thanks for correcting me on that, I am really grateful right now for my job!

PS I have to add the requisite "Your so mean!!!"

"my 13 year old, twilight-obsessed daughter overheard me telling the boyfriend about "biter nurses" and had a fantastic idea!

this could be the basis for a new medical show -- think cross between nurse jackie and trueblood :D!!

if we rescue ruby bee and woof from the bowels of this thread we might be well on our way to a really disturbing allnurses network!!

okay, who's got suggestions for what to call it?"

i was thinking maybe "bon temps scrubs" or "shapeshifter general." ok, i know that's lame.

shape-hitler! (invoking godwin here since we're a bit short on nety today.) :)

LOL. A Nurse at work said that all Nursing school students should have to be an aide for a month... I am sure that it would change a lot of minds.

The best RN programs require you to have worked as a CNA before admission, and for more than a month

You're being so mean. You should be supportive of them

If you're taking a driver's license test and you crash the car every time you take the driving part of the exam, do you get unlimited chances, or at some point do you have to go for remedial education?

I think eventually you run out of evaluators willing to get in a car with you. Then you have to move on to a new town and a fresh crop.

"Omg it's such a great feeling... A DREAM come true. Weve worked hard to become a nurse... We deserve a job as wellXoxoxoxo "

I seriously just read this on this site.... and it wasn't sarcastic.

Entitlement, anyone?? :banghead:

Um...so, like if their job is really a dream come true for this person...are all the doctors in their underbritches and wearing yellow smiley faces? Because I have this recurring dre(eeeeeee)am...

I would like to go to into nursing. HOWEVER, I do not like taking tests. Can someone please post a list of colleges that do not require you take a test.

Thank you.

Just which tests are we talking about? On the computer? Pencil, paper and scantrons? In a pee cup?

Hmmm but wouldn't play into the whole "Hellllooooooo Nurse!" stereotype? ;)

My guess would be HBO would have to pick it up -- other channels might find it to risque LOL!
