Just a bit ago the top three threads involved:
1.I have a DWI. Can I be a nurse?
2.I am stupid. Can I be a nurse?
3.If it takes me five times to pass NCLEX, Can I be nurse.
Not much left to add. Says it all.
"my 13 year old, twilight-obsessed daughter overheard me telling the boyfriend about "biter nurses" and had a fantastic idea!
this could be the basis for a new medical show -- think cross between nurse jackie and trueblood
okay, who's got suggestions for what to call it?"
i was thinking maybe "bon temps scrubs" or "shapeshifter general." ok, i know that's lame.

actually, shapeshifter general has a nice ring to it....
Do you also throw up a little in your mouth when posters state they have failed their prereqs multiple times as well as taking the NCLEX 5 times (and haven't passed YET) and are encouraged to keep trying because you have endless chances?
You're being so mean. You should be supportive of them
If you're taking a driver's license test and you crash the car every time you take the driving part of the exam, do you get unlimited chances, or at some point do you have to go for remedial education?
No, back in the day you could count on nursing programs being able to "weed" out some of these folks from the beginning. Now, "I have a right to be here even though I scored a 2 on my SATs and if you don't let me in I'll sue you" If I recall correctly, you could only take the "Boards" (NCLEX) 2 times then you had to go back to school or give up and find something else to do with your life. When the lawyers control how we are to live, act and interact with one another, it's sad.
