Democrats are excited about Harris and as of this writing she's raised 100 million dollars since Biden announced he was dropping out and throwing his support behind her.
Quote"Republicans, I worry, vastly underestimate Kamala Harris. They don't think very highly of her. They don't think she's terribly bright. When you or I bring up Kamala Harris' name in Republican circles, people laugh. It's immediately a punchline," Cruz said Monday on his podcast "Verdict with Ted Cruz."
Cruz warned against Republicans preemptively celebrating a Trump-Vance win months out from the election, arguing Democrats and the media will promote Harris as an "historic" candidate.

I think this is a good plan with appeal to moderates and independents and there's a good likelihood that this will be legislated in some fashion should she have a Congress in interested more in governing than posturing. Venture capital is already pushed into rural areas. A more thoughtful congress might have hearings on the topic and bring some of the venture capitalists in to talk about there goals and objectives and how that meshes with the goals and objectives of We the People. Another discussion, another day.
I agree about the housing except that I think the down-payment part should start immediately. There are millions of people who could immediately benefit in markets that can manage without new construction.
TBH, I was a Harris fan and was disappointed when she stepped aside in 2020. I think (in retrospect) she likely had spoken with Biden and knew that she was going to have an important place in his administration so she dropped out and endorsed him. She certainly wasn't getting the attention that he was. All of that means that I think that she is a woman of good character who is well educated and successful in her endeavors. I think that she is meticulous about her own preparation for challenges or duties. I think that she is mindful and not reckless or impulsive. I think she has good judgement and that is reflected in her choice for VP.
I an looking forward to the policy discussions that a Harris presidency will inspire. Americans can accomplish impressive things when properly inspired around a commonality.
My concern about venture capital is when it comes into a community, takes over an entire business, and then raises prices, makes drastic cuts or leaves altogether. Healthcare comes to mind, with practices being bought out, experienced practitioners leave, and are replaced with newly qualified ones.

I voted for her; her name was listed with Biden. I'll bet you didn't, so why do you care?
Lots of people are voting with campaign contributions. At least $615 million since she chose Walz. And she hasn't needed to sell pieces of her old clothes to do it.

Rural healthcare was the example I gave in my link.

Did you know that Harris was a part of one of the most successful presidential administrations in our history? If the president is demented and unfit, as many Trump supporters have maintained, wouldn't it have been the VP and cabinet which generated that success?
QuoteWhat we do know is that Harris, now the likely Democratic nominee for president against Republican Donald Trump, has been viewed far more unfavorably than favorably in poll after poll.
Her numbers have been lower than her four immediate predecessors at different points in her term, but Dan Quayle's unfavorables were worse. So were Dick Cheney's in his second term.
Harris' latest favorable rating in the July 21-23 Economist/YouGov poll was 42% of registered voters, while 51% viewed her unfavorably, a 9 percentage point difference. That's far better than a year ago, when there was a 16 point gap.

Ummm ... did you check the dates on the articles you cited?
Crusades said:Ummmm. It was in reference to being rated the worst Vice president in response to Trump being the worst president.
Trump's ranking wasn't a popularity contest, it was an assessment of his effectiveness. He's ranked among the least effective presidents.
And he tried to overturn election results.

Well, the only clarification of "worst" I've read from you is lack of accomplishment. That's like calling me the worst nurse because I suck at tennis.
Try again.

Nah. Beerman usually backs up his comments or provides examples for discussion. So do I and you know it. I just don't bark on your command.
