The Kamala Harris Thread

Published

Democrats are excited about Harris and as of this writing she's raised 100 million dollars since Biden announced he was dropping out and throwing his support behind her.

Quote

"Republicans, I worry, vastly underestimate Kamala Harris. They don't think very highly of her. They don't think she's terribly bright. When you or I bring up Kamala Harris' name in Republican circles, people laugh. It's immediately a punchline," Cruz said Monday on his podcast "Verdict with Ted Cruz."

Cruz warned against Republicans preemptively celebrating a Trump-Vance win months out from the election, arguing Democrats and the media will promote Harris as an "historic" candidate.

  • Trump's Project 2025 Agenda

SAFEGUARD OUR FUNDAMENTAL FREEDOMS

  • Protect Civil Rights and Freedoms

ENSURE SAFETY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL

  • Make Our Communities Safer From Gun Violence and Crime
  • Secure Our Borders and Fix Our Broken Immigration System
  • Tackle the Opioid and Fentanyl Crisis
  • Ensure No One Is Above the Law
  • Trump's Project 2025 Agenda

KEEP AMERICA SAFE, SECURE, AND PROSPEROUS

  • Invest in America's Sources of Strength- Global Leadership
  • Support Service Members, Veterans, Their Families, Caregivers, and Survivors

Together, we can accomplish most of these goals,

She has actual plans.  Trump had to deny his plans because his plans, as outlined in project 2025, are not popular. Trump has actual grievances and lies and conspiracy theories, but he only has concepts of plans for we the people.

I actually agree with you.  I much prefer the style of campaign that Harris is running.  Trump's has become over the top and exhausting.

Unfortunately,  Harris has no substance, and is trying to fool us all into thinking she is much more moderate than her past statements and actions would indicate.

Perhaps the bottom line is, "how are you in the last 4 years"? And "how were you with Trump in 4 years"?

Regardless of propaganda and mud slinging, I think people will vote on this question.

Sure, you used to be a liberal and you think that the country was healthier under Trump while he was lying about and mismanaging a pandemic. Holy hell, that's not believable or logical at all.  You say you don't like Biden for not uniting the country that Trump is busily dividing and you want us to take you seriously.

You perceive extreme bias and antagonism toward Trump and that's why you defend him and ignore the very many things which disqualify him? Yet your super powerful perception skills can't quite seem to discern Trump's craziness or un-American thinking and actions.  How odd.

The people who will vote for Trump are bewitched by a really stupid cult leader who is also mentality illl and suffering from dementia.  They are supporting a racist fascist.  What kind of people do that?

Half of the country didn't even vote for Trump in 2020 and that was before he tried to over throw the election results.  First he got fired and then he tried to overthrow that firing and you think that endeared him to more voters? That's weird.

The problem is that you feel you are the representative on how democrats are and what they believe and they are all in agreement with your ideology. So I'm not surprised you do not believe me nor do I care. Some radicals will reject even those in their party if they do not submit to their demand that you think like them.

I suppose you have the criteria to say who is and who is not a democrat?Perhaps you should define that and then refuse to back up your claim?

I gave you an opportunity to directly relate ypur speculation of Trump's symptoms of dementia/mental illness by using a recent debate. You were not willing to discuss the symptoms as related to the DSD/ mental heath criteria. Asking you to explain isn't "defending Trump".

Your last paragraph makes no sense.

That's incorrect.  I saw an old man with age related cognitive decline who was competently carrying out the duties of the presidency when I watched Biden.  He's had one of the most successful presidencies of your lifetime.

We all know that Biden stepped aside and endorsed Harris.  He will be remembered well through history for that unprecedented act of patriotism.

It still seems to be on the minds of Trump supporters.  That's kind of funny.

It was a rare and unprecedented event. It denied millions people out of their vote and replaced it with a person they gave no votes too. So yeah, it's worth talking about.

Crime was up in 2019 and then Trump failed the leadership test of a pandemic. His mismanagement was historic.  That was before he lied about losing an election and tried to overturn election results.  That's the realm of incompetence and treason but it's somehow very attractive to GOP voters.

I express my thoughts.  I don't speak for other voters anymore than you do.

You can't project that intolerance of the GOP onto liberals and democrats.  We are all aware of how those conservatives who criticize Trump are declared RINOS and run out of the party.  People like Cheney maybe?  Your gas lighting skills are terrible.

I don't need to define democrat for a Trump supporter.  You should have to define conservatism and explain how that applies to your crazy candidate.  Y'all are the folks who can't seem to decide if democrats are communists or Marxists or socialists... heck, I'm pretty sure you even tried to lay the fascist label on democrats.  Certainly other confused Trump supporters have.

I don't need you to give me opportunities to do anything.

This isn't the Trump thread.  We can talk about the symptoms that you saw which reveal Trump's mental illness and dementia in the thread devoted to him.

Don't pretend that you don't defend Trump.  We read your defenses every day.

Your reading comprehension is weak.

Start a thread and whine about your Biden related angst there, this is a thread about Harris.

I would say that Harris doesn't speak for voters either considering zero voted for her to be the candidate.

Very well stated.

You should know I've been saying similar things for about 8 years.  There is one reasonable member here will consider what we have to say.  But don't expect to hear much different than what you've been getting ad nauseam from the rest.

It's kind of funny that you think that because I don't agree with the majority of your posts that I don't consider your posts.  It's only kind of funny because I know that you know better because we've discussed the specifics of your citations and articles and comments in these very threads.  Are you trying to misrepresent how people interact with you here.

What's really ad nauseum repetition is the persistent regurgitation of Trumpy talking points that are already debunked or proven false or identified as propaganda.  Some Trump supporters are immune to facts and evidence, their feelings and beliefs are just too strong.  That's why they will vote for a rapist, fraud and felon who is a mentally ill authoritarian.

I like the sound of Harris's proposal to increase the startup tax deduction for small businesses, but I'm a little leery of driving venture capital to rural areas.

We've already discussed her proposed $25,000 help with a down payment for first time homeowners. I agree, this could drive demand and increase prices in a limited market. We need to increase the amount of housing first, perhaps with a private/government partnership. Our community does this to encourage builders to create affordable housing.

The childcare tax credit seems like a great idea. And extending Medicaid coverage to the first year of life, for mom and babe.

As someone on Medicare, I do appreciate the lower prices of meds.

I do think the upper limit of income that taxed for social security needs to be raised. It went up a little this year, to $168,600.

Does anyone else have thoughts?

What he's trying to do is to somehow move the Overton window so that he doesn't have to engage with anyone who doesn't agree with him. Dismissive labels like "clapping seals" who "chime in" to challenge him combined with praise for the centrist is classic.

Sure.  That's what I've done here, isn't it?  For for 8 + years I've avoided engaging with people who don't agree with me.  rofl
