The Kamala Harris Thread

Published

Democrats are excited about Harris and as of this writing she's raised 100 million dollars since Biden announced he was dropping out and throwing his support behind her.

"Republicans, I worry, vastly underestimate Kamala Harris. They don't think very highly of her. They don't think she's terribly bright. When you or I bring up Kamala Harris' name in Republican circles, people laugh. It's immediately a punchline," Cruz said Monday on his podcast "Verdict with Ted Cruz."

Cruz warned against Republicans preemptively celebrating a Trump-Vance win months out from the election, arguing Democrats and the media will promote Harris as an "historic" candidate.

Philly Action News Interview: Kamala Harris discusses economy, guns and more

Anchor Brian Taff interviewed Harris today during her Johnstown, PA visit --she later went to Wilkes-Barre (former coal country where my Pop-Pop born) in Pocono Mountains-both areas Trump won.   She visited a cafe-bookstore in Johnstown to listen to small business owners needs + plans to push for $25,000 tax deduction for business start-ups--"nobody can startup with current $5,000 deduction".

...“As president, I will get rid of the unnecessary degree requirements for federal jobs and increase jobs for folks without a four-year degree, understanding that requiring a certain degree does not necessarily talk about one's skills.”...

Harris also outlined her proposed expanded child tax credit, up to $6,000 for families with new babies, as an opportunity to buy basics like a stroller, crib, and baby clothes.

It seems you saw a man who was not competent to be President and continue to deny any other cognitive decline other than age related eventhough the democrat party moved to drop him from the race.

That's incorrect.  I saw an old man with age related cognitive decline who was competently carrying out the duties of the presidency when I watched Biden.  He's had one of the most successful presidencies of your lifetime.

We all know that Biden stepped aside and endorsed Harris.  He will be remembered well through history for that unprecedented act of patriotism.

It still seems to be on the minds of Trump supporters.  That's kind of funny.

He's the 2nd Gentlemen by the way, but he certainly is a good advocate and campaigner for VP Harris.  The Villages Democrats frequently have those Golf Cart parades for their candidates over the years, but they have been solidly Trump territory historically.

I gave a full description of observations of Trump's behavior  that directly related to the diagnostic  criteria of Frontal Lobe dementia while conceeding some behavior could be concurent with behaviors of Trump. Several examples were provide with credible references.

This is the type of analysis I was requesting from baloney.

Also note, I have never said that Trump definitely does not have dementia/mental illness. Only that the behaviors do not qualify as far as I can observe. I have bias so this was a good opportunity to receive info outside of my bias. I was provided generic symptoms.

I also do not go on giving Trump a clear bill of health as though he has been completely deemed cognitively fit and 100% mentally sound either.

You're right tho, no one here is qualified to make or dismiss any diagnosis because he hasn't had a medical evaluation.

I'm going to let it go.  It just seems to me that several times you mentioned you're big reason for going for Trump even though he lies is Biden's mental status.  I don't remember you saying that he needed a medical evaluation for you to make that judgement and that you weren't qualified to say he was in decline.  You said it was obvious.  It's obvious to us that Trump has mental problems, but you demand specific examples that would fit into a medical diagnosis.   That's also fair, TMB who you engage with the most often asks for evidence.  But I sensed a double standard.  Again, I'll let it go and follow the advice I gave TMB.

Now that Biden is out and the mental status of a President isn't the issue, you immediately found reasons to not support Harris and demanded examples of Trump's mental decline/cognitive decline and said we weren't qualified to make that diagnosis.  Fair enough, but it never really wasn't about Biden's decline as the reason you weren't going to vote for him.  You're voting for Trump regardless.  It's okay.  Half the country are going to vote him and he stands a good chance at winning.

I had concerns of Biden's age.  He was aging fast.  But he was a competent and still is a competent President.  I did turn on him after the debate because I knew he wasn't going to recover from that from both sides.  I remember saying "he's toast......" and you can't uncook toast.

I did say that I am not qualified to make a diagnosis of Bidens cognitive status. And I am not. This was before he was encouraged or decided to drop out of the race. It was obvious after his debate the media and his own party saw something concerning.

Behind Biden is a party that I am unable to align with. Some policies and ideas do not fit with my values anymore. I use to be a Democrat and I did vote for Biden in the last election.  I was hoping he would make good on his promis to unite the country and build back better. The country is divided and the bottom line is my family was happier and healthier under Trump.

So I will conceded that his cognition wasn't the only reason I do not support the democrat party.

I apologize for the continued defence of Trump. I find it hard to reconcile what I precieve as an extreem bias and antagonism toward Trump.

Yes half the country will vote for him and half the country has been allocated as racist fascist that are bewitched by a really stupid cult leader. How ridiculous.

Yes. He decided to drop out of the race only a few days later after stating that he is "definitely staying in the race unless God himself tells him to drop out". LOL.

It's silly to allocate to my "lifetime" when you know nothing of my age.

LOL

Sure, you used to be a liberal and you think that the country was healthier under Trump while he was lying about and mismanaging a pandemic. Holy hell, that's not believable or logical at all.  You say you don't like Biden for not uniting the country that Trump is busily dividing and you want us to take you seriously.

You perceive extreme bias and antagonism toward Trump and that's why you defend him and ignore the very many things which disqualify him? Yet your super powerful perception skills can't quite seem to discern Trump's craziness or un-American thinking and actions.  How odd.

The people who will vote for Trump are bewitched by a really stupid cult leader who is also mentality illl and suffering from dementia.  They are supporting a racist fascist.  What kind of people do that?

Half of the country didn't even vote for Trump in 2020 and that was before he tried to over throw the election results.  First he got fired and then he tried to overthrow that firing and you think that endeared him to more voters? That's weird.

There's another thread devoted entirely to discussing the cult leader who heads up the GOP presidential ticket. I'm going to refocus upon the positive, inclusive and smart campaign of Kamala Harris.

The Harris campaign is launching its largest effort yet to reach Latino voters, with new spending on Spanish-language radio and an organizing push around boxing matches and baseball games as National Hispanic Heritage Month kicks off this weekend.

The investments come as early voting is set to begin soon in some of the critical battlegrounds that are home to sizable Latino populations, like Arizona, Nevada and Pennsylvania.

Quote

Beyond in-person events and organizing, the campaign plans to devote $3 million to new ads on Spanish-language radio from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, which is among the largest and "most significant" spending in Hispanic media ever, according to the senior campaign official.

The plan includes engagements with influential radio personalities and will also be tailored to sports-themed shows, with a focus on local baseball, football and soccer team coverage.

The Harris campaign is especially focused on reaching undecided Latino voters who may be persuaded by some of Trump's economic message. Many Hispanic people rely on their close networks of friends and family for information that could affect how they vote, so the Harris team is also working to ramp up its "trusted messengers" program in those communities.

It's good to see another energetic and enthusiastic campaign with a focus on the future and the hopes of the people.  Harris's style couldn't be more different from her opponent's.

Very well stated.

You should know I've been saying similar things for about 8 years.  There is one reasonable member here will consider what we have to say.  But don't expect to hear much different than what you've been getting ad nauseam from the rest.

I actually agree with you.  I much prefer the style of campaign that Harris is running.  Trump's has become over the top and exhausting.

Unfortunately,  Harris has no substance, and is trying to fool us all into thinking she is much more moderate than her past statements and actions would indicate.
