The HRSA Nursing Scholarship

Updated:   Published

The HRSA nursing scholarship is available now. I just submitted my application although I'm probably a long shot.

How to Apply for a Scholarship

If you're interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, you may be eligible for a scholarship through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The HRSA Scholarship Program is designed to support students in various healthcare disciplines who are committed to serving underserved communities and helping to address the shortage of healthcare professionals in those areas.

HRSA offer scholarships to help pay for health professions' education.

All Scholarship awardees will provide a one-year service commitment for each year of scholarship support received.

The application cycle typically opens in late Winter or early Spring and closes in late Spring or early Summer, so be sure to check the website regularly for updates.

Scholarship requirements:

To be eligible for the HRSA Scholarship, you must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited program that leads to a degree in one of the following disciplines:

  • Nursing (including RN, ADN, BSN, and graduate-level nursing programs)
  • Nurse Practitioner
  • Certified Nurse-Midwife

You must also be a U.S. citizen, a national, or permanent resident.

Have no federal judgment liens and service commitment.

If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply for scholarship through the HRSA's online application system.

Scholarship award covers:

  • Tuition and Eligible Fees
  • A monthly stipend for living expenses
  • An annual other reasonable costs payment

If you have any questions about the program or the application process, the HRSA offers resources and support to help guide you through the process. Don't miss out on the opportunity to receive financial assistance while pursuing your dream of a career in healthcare and serving those in need.

My analyst is JJ3rd and no credit pulled yet. Who else has JJ3rd as their analyst?

I'm from PA and I'm also waiting for the final decision.

I wouldn't wait too late to sign up for the credit monitoring if you are going to do it. It can take a couple of days for it to go through and they won't show you anything that is not new from the time you sign up. So if it was pulled today and you sign up today or tomorrow, you wouldn't see it.

I am from PA as well. CL is my analyst and I have had no credit check as of yet.

Well I went to freescore and did it...only have 7 days though

So if I signed up for that....does that mean I would only see things from when I signed up and on? I wouldn't see it if they checked in the past few days?

no idea...i just hope it updates

You should be able to...

The inquiry seems to be a "hard" inquiry, and it is it'll stay on your credit report for a fairly long period of time. I know that FICO uses their presence for 12 months in calculating your credit report.

(Credit reports that you pull for yourself are called "soft" inquiries/pulls and don't affect your credit. But I think if this is showing up on credit reports the way it is, it's considered a hard pull.)

Does anyone know how many analyts there are? I have counted 3 so far (MC, CL, JJIII)...

I think those are the only analysts I have seen..and it looks like the only credit checks have been done by people who have MC.
