  1. Congrats ! I was confused by it to. I will be going on monday to talk to Fin. Aid. Send me any questions u want me to ask. Also, the entrance award is a grant and I think it is re-newed every year.
  2. There is a chance that they are still sending out waitlist notices. There are people at my school 9sister school) who may not pass the TEAS exam or get the B-'s they need to transfer. Eventhough the deposit and the letter of intents are due on the 19th there are stiil people who got accepted but dedcide not to go to SMU. Just wait a little bit longer and I will keep my fingers crossed for u!
  3. I think I am the only one in the group transferring from a sister school. Don't give up hope because I know people who got accepted a week before classes started. Good Luck!:)
  4. Dear Bayz10- First off COngrats on getting in! Second, I agree with sorificett on the whole clinical thing you could have either 7-3:30pm or 2:30-11:00pm for clinicals on thursdays or fridays. I know a guy who commutes from my school but he stays with friends in Oakland when he has a night class and a class the next day. Also, you may want to try it for one semester and if it is too much see if you can transfer to another nursing program near sac. I heard that it is easier to transfer to another program once your IN nursing school. Good luck and again congrats! whatever u decide we are hear to support u!
  5. I GOT IN 2!!!! :yeah::yeah:Got the letter via email and it was in my junk mail (I kinda freaked out!) Don't worry letters should still be going out. I will keep my fingers crossed and I can't wait to meet u all at orientation!
  6. I don't know exactly what classes you have completed but here's what I can tell you: 1.) Transfer units allowed are only 30 units 2.) If you got any C's in sciences course you have to re-take them 3.) You can only take science class twice at HNU, repeated transfer course don't count(if you don't pass with a B- the second time you are out of the program) 4.) The TEAS test you can only take twice the minimum scores are list at the following link(try to take it during the summer so you can just focus and study for it without any distractions. http://www.samuelmerritt.edu/nursing/bs_nursing/requirements 5.) summer school classes are not allowed once you get into the program. 6.) Minimum GPA to transfer to SMU is 3.0 7.)You will most likely get in it just depends on how long you stay at HNU (some people have taken 3 years to transfer) 8.) Once the Nursing Committee reviews your app they will send you an letter in the mail. I know that it seems like a lot but I have enjoyed my time at HNU because the teachers are awesome and will work with you if you don't understand anything. Like I said you will probably get in! Good luck and write back if you have any other questions.
  7. Congrats both of you!!!!!! :yeah:No letter for me now I'm nervous
  8. Don't stress you have a good chance. Like I said before a lot of people from my school can't get the minimum scores to pass the TEAS (after taking it twice). Also, my school requires B-'s is all the science courses so if people get C+'s they have to retake classes. I transferred to my school from a JC and so that's why I am a spring transfer. Don't worry you will get in you have good grades and a great TEAS score. Good Luck and don't worry!
  9. Hi all it has been a long time since I wrote on here. I go to one of the partnership schools and the admissions director came to my school a few weeks ago. Said that we would probably know if we got in the second week of November because she is going on vacation. Also, if you are applying from a junior college you might not find out you got in until after grades are posted in December. They hold positions for people at the partnership schools first. If there are people at the partnership schools who didn't pass there classes then there are more positions open for JC transfer students. I hope this is not the case and we all get our acceptance letters sooner rather than letter. Good luck to you all!!!!
  10. hey guys! I am at one of the partnership schools ( if you don't know about them look them up on the SMU website) Anyway, I wanted you guys not to worry so much about getting in. First, there are people at my school who can't get the minimum scores to pass the TEAS. Which means that there are more positions open to JC transfer students each semester. So, just hang in there and do your best! If you want to be a nurse some how some there will be a way.:) Good Luck to you all and hope to see you guys in the Spring 2011!
  11. yelnikmcwawa- Can you send me a private message so I can contact the lady who is in charge of the facilities list? My anaylsts takes forever to get back to me!
  12. I was wondering about the welcome kit as well and I haven't received the training email either. I was wondering if anyone knows if we can change our W-4 because my Mom's Accountant says I messed up on it?
  13. Congrats to everyone who received the award! For those of you reading these post for next year I received all the emails, mistake email from VJ, MC was my analysts and had my credit checked (I have bad credit). I received the award email at 7:35 am PST. My heart goes out to all that did not receive the award this year but don't let this stop you from being the best nurse you can be!
