I traditionally have a thread heading to the election, here we go.
Get out the popcorn for this one.
QuoteFlorida Gov. Ron DeSantis is expected to formally announce next week he is running for president in 2024, NBC News reported Thursday, citing two sources familiar with the matter.
The governor's official entry into the Republican primary field will put him head-to-head with former President Donald Trump, the party's current frontrunner for the nomination. Trump has already spent months treating DeSantis as his primary campaign rival, thrashing him with torrents of criticism over his gubernatorial record, his political skills and his personality.

What an interesting coincidence.
So? What do you think? There's no gay Republicans? How bigoted and narrow minded.
Or are you low key call the RNC Gay?
Interesting read. Prior to 1972, presidential candidates were nominated in conventions composed of just elected officials and party leaders. I was glued to TV for evening coverage from 1968 on and started voting in 1973.
Are convention delegates bound to their presidential candidate?

Unfortunately, those Republicans who had a conscious to vote with have left the party behind. We are left with the unconscionable dregs of MAGA.
I mentioned this the other day so it's not unexpected.
QuoteFormer President Trump's campaign reportedly filed an FEC complaint accusing President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris of violating campaign finance laws, the New York Times reported on Tuesday.

Trump is jealous, he thinks that money is his.

QuoteThe big picture: Trump told the crowd at the Bojangles Coliseum "they say" he became nice when he got shot. But he said he wouldn't be nice. What followed for roughly the next 90 minutes was the roast of Kamala Harris.
Supporters walking out of the coliseum quipped in their groups that the event was good, but "long."
Driving the news: In an indication of what to expect during the campaign, Trump called Harris "crazy" multiple times and said she had destroyed San Francisco as their district attorney.
He painted her as an extremist liberal who made Bernie Sanders look moderate.
He accused Harris, without providing evidence, of covering up Biden's health and said she could not be trusted. He nicknamed her "Lyin' Kamala."
It sounds like Trump's all out of "clever" new names to call his opponents.
QuoteZoom out: Off the stage, Trump supporters embraced what Democrats criticize them for.
"It's a Man's Man's Man's World" blared over the speakers, and loyalists donned shirts with Trump's mugshot. "I'm voting for the convicted felon," one shirt said.
Sounds like Trump is pivoting to appeal to moderate or independent voters, right?
