Trump's gun policy is whatever he's told it needs to be to get the NRA's voting block.
What is a woke policy... would it be a policy that says that the government will pay for people to get IVF?
Those things are important, especially if one is basing the vote in facts and evidence in addition to feelings. Because the facts and evidence also includes some very important and not very flattering things about Trump as a leader, and as a man. He is who he is. Not only is he a man with a very long history of narcissism (which makes lasting marriage or long term friendships difficult) but he is also an adjudicated sexual abuser and fraud. Trump is the guy who demonstrated epically bad business judgment and acumen and then got involved in a reality TV show that built an entire persona around his guided lifestyle that sold millions of Americans a lie about who he was and is.
Trump is a pathological liar who cannot admit failure or loss. He had an incredibly corrupt cabinet and a number of his close associates are felons, further evidence of his terrible judgment and discernment. He tried to overthrow the government when he lost the election because of his incompetence as a leader during a crisis.
No I wouldn't say that a policy is more important than disqualifying character flaws or mental illness or obvious cognitive decline in a candidate.

Trump has started calling democratic voters "the enemy within" and suggesting that the military might be needed to take care of that enemy, that directly contradicts your claim. Trump has absolutely campaigned in 2016, 2020, and now in 2024, with name calling his opposition as a central feature of his strategy. That directly contradicts your claim.
Your last couple of paragraphs makes me think that you are struggling to discuss the growing evidence of Trump's illness and cognitive decline. I think you are trying to make an illogical point by using sarcasm. What's going on?

Circling back to what Mr. Ramsey stated as his reasons for supporting Trump, he comments that driving down energy, by increased oil production, will control inflation is silly. Oil/energy prices are far more complicated than American supply and demand. This ignores in the influence of war, OPEC, and weather. Im sure y'all remember the crazy low oil prices during the pandemic. Oil was at a negative cost, domestic oil production shut off because it was too expensive to drill. Trump had to shore up oil costs. And OPEC cuts down production if the price of oil gets too low. And the Keystone pipeline is meant to carry Canadian oil to Texas, to export. That won't change the price of US energy.
Mr. Trump seemly thinks the US can just isolate itself from the rest of the world and control costs. Thats just not feasible. Inflation was/is a world-wide phenomenon, in large part due to the global pandemic, plus wars, politics( Brexit) and climate catastrophes. The US has recovered better than most. Inflation was much higher in the 70's. Some of us here remember that. And prices never came down, but wages sort of caught up.
We have one candidate who auctioned off leases that the next president had to honor, and that led to our current record oil and gas production.
The other candidate supported the Green New Deal. The U.S. Gas and Oil Association has had a issue with her and her VP candidate taking credit for record production, and say the record production happened despite the current administration.
So, I easily know which candidate is most likely to support a policy I agree with.

Nah. I'd rather talk about the election and the campaign of the clearly unwell republican candidate. One candidate campaigned with Stevie Wonder and the other candidate talked about Arnold Palmer in crass terms. That disinhibition is a real weakness in a candidate, would ypu agree?
