Go ahead, break the ice, and introduce oneself!

I guess I'll start. I'm originally from California, and have resided in Texas since late 2005. I've been an LVN since January 2006, and I currently work in the rehab section of a skilled nursing facility in Fort Worth. Since August 2006, I have earned 38 college credit hours worth of prerequisite classes to be applied toward one of several local LVN-to-RN bridge programs.

Hey everyone!

I'm a fairly new RN born and raised in good ol' Amarillo, Tx. My hubby dragged me down here to Houston in 2002 where I caught the nursing bug! I graduated with my BSN from UT-Houston in May 07 and now work as a ER nurse in the med center. Woo-hoo!

I've got a great (and very supportive) hubby, a 5 year old daughter and a brand new 1 month old baby girl!!

Good to meet everyone!!! :wink2:

My name is Amber. Currently enrolled @ Temple College and UMHB. Trying to get into UMHB Nursing in the Spring, but I still need a Micro course...

soooo if anyone knows of any school offering an online Microbio course that will transfer to UMHB, I would definitely appreciate the info!

:D

I lived in tx 14 years moved to Kansas and got my LPN and then my RN. I worked as a charge nurse in LTC almost a year. I just graduated with my RN and can't wait to move back to TX. I am a true Texan at heart!:nurse:

I guess it's my turn.... Well, for starters, I'm a wife and mom of three sons (11, 13, and 19). I have two degrees (AS and BS) and am currently working on my ADN at GCC. I just finished my first year. One down, one to go:yeah:!!!!!! I am one of the older ones in class (43 y/o), but that's OK. My brain is a little atrophied, tho:banghead:! Things don't stick the way that I wish they would.

I don't take the time to get on here much, but I'll try to do better in the future.

I wish many blessing upon you all!

North Texas area representin'!!!

Hello all,

I am a pre-nursing student living in a very small west Texas town  Nothing against Texas just wish I were in a real city:D I'm starting on my final courses this coming fall. I will be applying to the BSN program in November. I'm nervous and excited the wait is going to drive be batty!

I'm originally from Kansas(go Jayhawks!), but North Carolina(Tarheels forever baby!) is home. I am a disabled veteran (served in the Air Force), mother of three kiddos and wife to an active duty member.

I'm excited about nursing and all there is to learn. I come from a family of medical folks. Grandma and Aunt are RN's, father is a cardiopulmonary specialist, and FIL is a PA. Eveyone is rooting for me to get through this journey.

I know the next few years are going to be filled with joy and suspense. I'm going to take this blessing and hopefully bless those I come into contact with.

I have a wicked sense of humor and a love for all things abnormal.

I hope to make new friends and learn from you all.:bowingpur:lol2:

Specializes in Operating Room.

My turn...

I am married, have two daughters, and have just graduated nursing school! (Thank God it does end eventually!!!) I live in Tarrant county, but I lived in Dallas county most of my life.

I will start work in the OR come July 21st....a life-long dream of mine. :)

Welcome to Texas everyone, and good luck to those just starting out in school! :yeah:

Specializes in ICU, Pedi, Education.

Hey!

I have lived in DFW since I was 7 and love it here. My husband and I met in nursing school and have been married for 12 years. We have three kids, 16 (his daughter from a previous marriage), 11 year old son, and 9 year old daughter. We both got our BSN's in 1997.

I worked in Pedi from 1997-2003. I got my MS in 2000 from TWU as a PNP. I worked as an outpt. PNP and taught Nursing School from 2000-2003.

I was a stay-at-home-mom from 2004 until March of this year. For a multitude of reasons, I decided to completely change the direction of my career and now work in Adult ICU. I have fallen in love with it and will be going back for my ACNP in the Fall. Since I already have a master's degree it will be a 5 course certificate!!

It is nice to meet everyone.
