  1. Anybody get in or complete the program?
  2. What state are you in as I have a friend who is in the same boat with over 5 years. Louisiana is not an option for him anymore as their limit is 4 test or 4 years.
  3. I actually came in as an OR Tech. LPN is my 2nd job and I did get it through the Army but it is my primary job now. I know some girls in the military who were grandfathered in by taking a special course because they were LPN's already. But I am not sure how that works or if it's still offered.
  4. I am an LPN in the Army and maybe I didnt understand your reasoning for wanting to join. But do realize until the MOS changes you will also have to be an EMT basic. They will give you that training and it's another certification you have to keep up. You might also not work in the capacity of a nurse all the time because you are a Health Care Technician first (used to be Combat Medic). With all the downsizing-it's something to really think about.
  5. That is the going rate for orientation but my experience has been that you don't get paid that until you work 10 flippin shifts! Needless to say I have not seen that money cause I'm always getting canceled! Great!
  6. Housing is provided and thats it.
  7. I have an offer for 23.00/hr for a facility claiming I will be doing vaccinations and blood draws and only 400.00 round trip travel for 1300 mile drive. Am I getting taken? Im also an LVN first time traveler....:stone
  8. I don't think so but that is a good start huh?:doh:Thank you so much.
  9. Hello, My name is Christina. I have been an LVN for 5 years now and currently live in Katy TX. I am originally from Louisiana by way of New Orleans (Westbank). I am currently doing agency. I have experience in many different things but my favorite is Rehab and Mother/Baby or NBN. I have recently started acquiring possibilities of travel and I am soooooooo excited about it. :yeah:I am also in the Army and studying for my AS-RN through Excelsior. Any advice or pointers is always appreciated. I love this site and think it is fantastic.
  10. I'm doing Excelsior and I am trying to figure out how do you CLEP. I am also in the Army and know they have DANTES and I am trying to figure out how to do that too and where are the locations that you go to to do these things.
  11. I have been put up for a possible travel assignment that involves a true telemetry unit that requires ACLS. Now I have no tele experience except occasional pts on tele on a med/surg unit and thats it. I am scheduled to take an ACLS class tomorrow to become certified that I just signed up for Wednesday and I feel like I may be in over my head. I am an LVN and I was just wondering if I am playing myself. Its a 13 week contract and I would think they want someone with tele experience already right? But I wouldn't mind getting that experience and having that under my belt. I just want others opinions and or advice. Thank you so much.
  12. Thanks. When I looked that info up online to get endorsed I knew it would be. I will look further into the possibilities. Thank you so much. :)
  13. You go girl thats all I needed to know. Thank you so much and good luck.
  14. :bow:I'm looking to move their in about 3 months or so and was wondering what agencies are great to work for as an LPN/LVN? Thank you. Im applying for my endorsement also and was wondering how long is the turn around time. Thank you again.
