I find it weirdly dismissive that someone refuses to put on a mask but oddly wants to have a say in a woman’s reproductive right - because, interestingly many of your more conservative lawmakers are in this very position. And, yes, I’ll put this in there as a tidbit because it’s applicable.

Some of us consider unique dna and a functional cardiovascular system sufficient for an organism to deserve rights, regardless of parasitic dependence on the host that produced it.

There’s more to reproductive rights then abortion.

No government official has a right to my (hypothetical) birth control, education, access to reproductive health care, etc.

Yet, here we are.

I was highlighting that it’s differences in perspective that lead to most of our communication barriers as a society.

Shrugs. Those people get to consider their "parasites" as they prefer. However, requiring another to treat their "parasite" as you prefer isn't exactly an example of personal freedom for that other person.

Regardless, the inability of a significant percentage of Americans to care more about their fellow countrymen and their communities than about the minor personal inconvenience of a mask is alarming. That group of antisocial people will make it very difficult for the country's economy and health system.

Yes yes, and when the elderly become parasites on their young we should give them the freedom to euthanize them. /sarcasm.

perspective is everything.

Fascinating thing, perspective.

The 10th commandment, for one: "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people"

It is up to state governors to issue and lift orders for people to stay at home/mandate masks/etc.

Evidently, the president, VP and certain governors (I.e., TX, FL) that had one perspective pursued one direction, while other governors pursued a different direction (I.e. the tri state area). The tri State area is now open for business and flourishing, while the other perspective is closing down due to record breaking numbers.

No, this “individual liberty” is a misunderstood concept that demonstrates many Americans don’t understand the definition of ‘tyranny’ and have never undergone true hardship.

The blame for this pandemic lays with the global threat of China. They are not freedom loving. They are oppressive to their people. Look what they have done in Hong Kong and their expansive military posture and threats to Taiwan. They allowed this outbreak to spread to the world so they wouldn’t be the only country to suffer economically.

In deference to our President, he said they were a dangerous competitor on the world stage.

Don't know who didn't know that China is our enemy. Many people weren't happy when Nixon decided that it was worth giving our economy away just so we could sell them Coca-cola. But we have our revenge; diabetes became rampant in children in the following decade. Diabetes is now rampant all over Chna and health care is now around 10% of their budget. Nobody, except people who weren't paying attention, believed that the Chinese government was our friend. If Trump really believed that China was a threat before Covid, why did he allow Ivanka to open her shoe shop in China? If China is so dangerous for us then why didn't he listen to his own staff when warned that it was here? When this national nightmare, will Ivanka re-open her shoe shop in China? We will see, but I already know the answer. If we re-open flights to and from China, their outbreak is swine flu will certainly make it here.

What was Sweden's fatality rate vs. New York and/or California?

Obviously irrelevant given the population variance, density variance and the reality that there weren't three major international airports receiving planeloads of travelers from West Europe every day. But somehow I doubt these realities will sway you of the obsolete and tired talking point that Sweden was some kind of success, which it was not

Yep, last I looked it was Republican Presidents that initated trade with Red China and have been providing taxpayer financed incentives to business to help them relocate everything that isn't locked down or automated.

But now I'm supposed to believe they are some kind of protectors of the effectively extinct American middle class against China all the sudden..as they take their health insurance away and vote to cut unemployment. Right.

Just like they were against NAfta too, only somehow there isn't a single Republican vote in the House or Senate to be found that voted against it. Oops!

Revisionism is a nice escape from reality I guess.

So I think you're saying there may be inconsistency among those that insist they have a right to control someone elses reproductive health because you know life and fetuses and then scream about how it is their own "right" to decide they won't wear a mask in the middle of a pandemic because the life of two generations don't matter.

Am I close?

Or, in the words of Monty Python, every sperm is sacred? The problem with this logic is there is DNA in every cell and you can carry out to the infinite and some people have and do exactly that by golly.
