Coronavirus Second Wave?
it would be but we're one hell of a long way from being able to say anything like that. I myself am tired of the latest headline that never amounts to much (hydroxychoroquine, remdesimir, Vitamin D, famatodine, Vit. C infusions, etc) all of which has, IMO, contributed to a deficit in the things that achieved success in Canada, Germany, New Zealand, etc, etc - ie testing, contact tracing at a federal consistent means, social distancing, sanely timed and planned reopenings and mask wearing.

Coronavirus Second Wave?
The economy is going to collapse anyway. That path was set when the DPA was not used in January (5 months later there's still mass PPE shortages) . It was set when the POTUS spent 2.5 months calling the virus a hoax. It was set when Potus and right wing groups then decided it was a win for them to politicize the pandemic and pit against Governors trying their best to keep their constituents alive. It was set when sound medical expertise about reopening was discarded and it was set when the lockdown time was squandered in that no national plan for contact tracing was established. It was certainly set when POTUS's annual two trillion dollar deficits were turned into 8 trillion with Javanka in charge of handing out two generations SS and Medicare to their buddies and donors. And it was set as the pandemic was politicized and left to wildfire , effectively staging the health care system for collapse. And as it collapses, you are going to think the 2007-08 recession was the good old days. It's clear people don't even have a clue what is coming and how bad it's going to be.

it is amazing to me that people are still arguing about wearing masks.

COVID in the Break Room?
Considering the virus is airborne I'm not sure I'd be spending any time I didn't have to in a poorly ventilated break room where people hadn't been wearing masks for any reason. while you're at it with the union, may consider asking about reverse airflow feasibility or at least some mega HVAC filters.

How Does This End?
Or you could always move out to the country, right? That's what I'd do.

New Swine Flu?
The initial swine flu outbreak originated in our own midwest.

if Republican politicians truly believed China was an enemy they would have been calling for business deinvestment and passing disincentive legislation which they could easily pass as the majority party in control of both Legislatures for 80% of the time 1995 forward. They've certainly had no trouble passing tax cuts for the uber wealthy and handing out your social security funds to Kaylei McEmeny's parents nor appointing hard righties to gut and dissolve middle class benefits, labor rights and laws, environmental laws, etc etc. after all. As with everything else, they're winking and nodding to their 450,000$ dinner plate donors and throwing red meat rhetoric to their little foot solidiers hoping they won't notice the dinner parties.

Or, in the words of Monty Python, every sperm is sacred? The problem with this logic is there is DNA in every cell and you can carry out to the infinite and some people have and do exactly that by golly.

Hopefully by then we'll have a competent Administration again.

So I think you're saying there may be inconsistency among those that insist they have a right to control someone elses reproductive health because you know life and fetuses and then scream about how it is their own "right" to decide they won't wear a mask in the middle of a pandemic because the life of two generations don't matter. Am I close?

Yep, last I looked it was Republican Presidents that initated trade with Red China and have been providing taxpayer financed incentives to business to help them relocate everything that isn't locked down or automated. But now I'm supposed to believe they are some kind of protectors of the effectively extinct American middle class against China all the sudden..as they take their health insurance away and vote to cut unemployment. Right. Just like they were against NAfta too, only somehow there isn't a single Republican vote in the House or Senate to be found that voted against it. Oops! Revisionism is a nice escape from reality I guess.

Obviously irrelevant given the population variance, density variance and the reality that there weren't three major international airports receiving planeloads of travelers from West Europe every day. But somehow I doubt these realities will sway you of the obsolete and tired talking point that Sweden was some kind of success, which it was not
