Anybody work for a Tenet owned hospital? How are they with staffing and education for staff? Do you have Nurse Educators?

After Tenet bought the hospital I worked for the staffing went downhill fast. Everything went downhill. Follow the advice of the previous posters!

I have worked as a hospital surveyor/regulator for my state for the last few years, and one of the hospitals in my "territory" was a Tenet hospital. Although the nursing management people nattered on and on to us about how committed they were to high standards, high quality patient care, supporting staff, etc., it was v. obvious every time we surveyed there that they were squeezing every nickel until it screamed and cutting every corner they could possibly find to cut. They were also v. difficult and unpleasant about fixing problems when we found them. I wouldn't work there if it were the last hospital in the US.
Of course, that's just one hospital (in fact, just one department of one hospital) and may not represent the entire chain ...
I haven't heard anything good about any Tenet hospitals, though ...

I worked at a Tenet hospital.
I would look very closely before working at one if I were you. Western Med's ICU was pretty good last I looked and the nurses there were happy (at least the two I talked to).
But again be very very careful.

RUUUUUUUNNNNNNN CHOIRCAT! RUUUUUNNNN 4 YOUR LIFE!!! :rotfl:
I worked for a Tenet hospital as a travel nurse and was assaulted while on duty by a hospital visitor who was almost as big as Shaquille O'Neal. They are sooooooo liable which is why they won't permit the nurse manager or the staff nurses to give references for me. I have seven years to file a lawsuit against Tenet for that abuse. The man was read his rights and arrested on a "misdemeanor" felony charge. The district attorney released him because "he had no priors". :angryfire It aint right, and his day in court is coming. :stone I haven't filed a lawsuit yet. I've been so emotionally caught up in the abuse, I've tried to forget it the past few months, but can't. I can't hold it in any longer.

I'm so sorry this happened to you. My prayers are with you as you get through this difficult time.
Thanks Angie. I have never experienced nurse abuse like that, and the CA Governor NEVER responded to my plea for help. I liked him better as an actor. Now that I know him as a politician, I wouldn't pay to see another movie by him. :stone

Get help for your emotions, and stick it to this guy. As long as you let your emotions rule you on this, justice will never be done. He will do it again, and again. Be strong and go for it. This is his fault, and clearly not your fault. Deal with the hospital as well, as long as we nurses let folks get away with this kind of stuff, we will never be respected. Some of us never have to walk in the fire, and some of us do. When you are put in this position you have to see it through. I've been there, and it is so worth it see justice done.
