If you could do it again, what career would you choose to pursue instead of Nursing? What are your reasons?
LOL - everyone's perspective on "sticks" is different.I live in the "sticks" and the population in the town is about 600. There is no Starbucks or TJMaxx. But there is a famous waterfall, a couple of volcanoes, lots of streams and rivers, etc.
Wow! Someone who beat me! We have about 3400 residents but all spread out. We joke that when you drive into my "neighborhood " you hear banjos. Nearest TJ Maxx is about 30ish minutes away...but we do have a haunted inn and an Ivy League college the next town over (in a different state).
No regrets except that I would've gone into nursing immediately instead of messing around with a silly BA first. That would've afforded me time to do a BSN first and likely my MSN, maybe a FNP.
My regrets stem more from marrying too early and not living independently and having fun when I was young!

Twinsies.
I wouldn't change things (shades of Back to the Future and watching my kids slowly disappear from pictures is not what I'm getting at!) but my BA in Psych took time and money up front that I could have used differently. Yea, I had fun, but I didn't travel enough. Not nearly enough.
Being a nurse has unlimited opportunities and boundaries. It has never been a boring job. It is a very flexible type of work. We can work from hospitals, offices, homes, or anywhere we would want to. It is one of the careers that you have definite freedom on what specialization or field you would want to be in.
Aside from the many different fields to choose, you can also work in different states you want. Keeping your career even you work across states is easy. Here is the link I find helpful. Check rnmobility.com and learn how to use your RN license in another state.
I dont regret being a Nurse as a whole, I do regret buying into the hype that nurses were "in demand" with out doing any actual reaserch into it. There has always been a surplus where I live by the time I realozed I had to look upstate it was too late for even that. So I more so regret not being more agressive early on searching for a job after graduating. But everything happens for a reason I guess
