I was wondering what the GPA of the average student applying to an accelerated program is. Mine is 3.6. Is this good? Do you think I am in a good position for being accepted? Do you guys thinks being a male helps in getting accepted? I was just wondering as there are so few male nurses out there. Just looking to see what my chances are. By the way, I am applying to NYU's accelerated program, so if there are any guys out there who are doing the same or have gone through their program I would really like to hear from you...
Thanks everyone!:nuke:
I just graduated Nursing school on May 23, 2009and completed school with a GPA of 3.89 which suprisingly was enough to make me the valedictorian of the class. I was able to work throughout school too. Not much of a social life outside work, school and family though.
Way to go! Congrats... many congratulations. Truly an accomplishment.
3.25 My last class really messed it up. It was creative writing. lol. But, lots of things were going on in my life. I am trying to get accepted to a nursing program right now. I took the TEAS test today and passed. Not a great passing grade but I did it. I am counting on all my great references to boost my points. I have friends, who are nurses, that are volunteering to vouch for me. I feel blessed right now. :)

My gpa before nursing school was a 3.57, but after finishing nursing school 2.85. I considered that to be ok be cause I worked 40 hours per week because I had to and I know for a fact if I did not have to work my gpa would have been at least a 3.5. I compared myself to my fellow classmates who did not have work and was fortunate enough to have parents to support them. I am kind of frustrated because I want to pursue a NP degree but most programs require at least a 3.0 and I know I am capable of passing now, I just had been dealt a bad hand. Do anone think I could enter a NP program with a 3.0 after give a full description of my slighlty lower gpa in the personal statement part of the applicfation process.
